Two toddlers wandering in the streets in the late afternoon, unwanted by their families they walked around looking for people who were willing to accept them. People who could at least give them a smile to make their life worthwhile before they fall into darkness.

One has short blue hair together with eyes that were pure white, she was wearing an old worn out dress with holes in them. Her entire body was full of bandages and bruises; anyone could tell she was being abused.

The other had red hair, emerald eyes and dark eyes rings circling his eyes. His clothes were nothing unusual, they weren't old or were they neither new. He didn't have any injuries but no one dare to walk beside him. The adults who were walking on the same street glare at him or ignore his existent.

Both were walking aimlessly, they didn't have a meaning to continued living. It seems better off if they just disappeared from the face of the world.

Gaara walked to the nearby playground and saw some kids playing there, he approached them with a small smile on his face.

"Can I play with you?" he asked cautiously.

The children all stopped playing and looked at Gaara. Fear slowly took over their body and they started running away screaming.

"MONSTER!!!"

"Go away!"

"Run away, I don't want to die"

Soon the entire playground was empty, hearing those words his heart starting to hurt. He grabbed his chest and cry in pain, sand started swirl around him ready to attack anyone.

"Why me? What did I do?" he didn't know how much longer he could handle it. It was too much to handle for a young boy like him.

Hinata was hiding behind a tree and noticed everything that happened. He was having the same pain as her, being cast away. It was a painful seeing that sight.

Hinata then stepped out from the tree and head towards the boy. Although she knew that she might get hurt from the sand but who cares, she was already covered with injuries.

"I will play with you" she said with a smile

He turned around shocked. The sand stopped swirling and fell back to the ground, he knew she wasn't from around here as the clothes she was wearing couldn't possibly protect her from the weather.

Hinata approached him and grabbed his hand gently. Gaara was still in shock, he didn't know how to react to this. He had never been in a situation like this.

"Let's play the swing" Hinata pulled him to the swing set and sat on the swing.

"Can you push me?"

Gaara snapped out and started pushing her. After that, they climb tree and build sandcastles which was Gaara favorite.

Soon they were laughing and smiling like normal children would, they never felt so human before.

They were lying on the ground looking at the sky.

"My name is Hinata" she spoke with a soft voice with a blush on her face.

"Gaara" He said as he looked slightly away, his cheeks were pink.

"Let's be friends forever. Promise?" Hinata lifted up her pinky in front of Gaara. She had a sweet smile on her face.

"Promise" he hooked his finger with Hinata's.

For the rest of the afternoon, they never let go of their fingers.
