Through the blood and dust on the Pelenor Fields a pair of emerald green eyes stood out. They were full of fear, knowing how the day would end.
Pippin could not see anything. He could just listen. Listen to the screams and cries of pain. He missed Merry. He probly would die that day. Tears formed in his eyes. He hadn't had a chance to tell Merry how he felt. He had written the letter, but he hadn't had the guts to give it to him.
At that moment Pippin felt the knife in his side. He cried out in pain and fell to the ground where darkness took him.

He had been in love with Merry for some time now. He loved everything about Merry. The way he walked and talked. Pippin had spied on him one day while he was kissing a lass. He became very jealous and began fantasising about kissing Merry. What did his mouth taste like?
Pippin had been terrified about what Merry would say if he knew. He had been afraid until he saw Merry's eyes in the mirror.

Merry had come into the room after a bath. He stood in front of the mirror and let his cloak drop. Pippin had been behind him and was looking into the mirror. He traced every line of Merry's body up to his eyes where he noticed Merry staring back at him. Merry turned and walked over to Pippin. He leaned in and kissed him. Moments passed between them. Neither said a word. Then Merry turned back around and got dressed.
Merry had to love him. Why hadn't he said it then? Because he wanted to hear Merry say it first.

He woke in a bed, a maid by his side. He reached in his pocket and handed her the letter. "Please give this to him..."
"Yes sir."
Pippin wondered where Merry was. The maid stood up, put the letter in her apron and left.
Darkness began to take Pippin again. Pippin took one last breath and said these words; "I saw your eyes in the Mirror Merry. I just wanted to say that I love you."
