"Stop", he says and abruptly crossed the few steps between them.
He reaches for her hand,
stilling the motion that was meant to lead a
small pair of precise
silver scissors to an unkempt mass of auburn strands.
"Don't do that", he
asks while moving his hand to savour its rich texture sliding
between
his fingertips. Cupping her face with his free hand, he explains:
"I love your hair", he pauses. "Please don't cut it off".
And when she smiles
acceptingly into his pleading eyes, he chuckles in relief:
"We'll
get you a nice cap instead."
