Sitting there, alone, she looked around the place, her mousy hair falling loosely over her shoulders. A pair of faded jeans clung to her legs and plain white jumper on her top. Looking down at her watch, she checked the piece of paper again, this was definitely the place but the time had passed, she had even arrived early, afraid of being late, not wanting to screw this meeting up.

The woman had sounded nice on the phone, welcoming even, she needed this, couldn't afford not to have it. She looked around the place again, checking everyone who came through the door. Thoughts kept on running through her head, 'have I got the right day' 'are you sure this is the place' 'what if she doesn't like me.'

She pushed the thoughts out of her head as a tall woman began to walk over to her, brown hair also loose, she wore plain black trousers and a simple black shirt. She tried to smile, the nerves hitting her suddenly.

The woman sat down across from her, "Lindsay I presume?" she asked, all Lindsay could do was nod, "I'm Stella" she said with a smile, "You want a drink, calm those nerves?" Stella asked with a slight smirk. Not waiting for an answer Stella rose from her seat and made her way towards the bar. She returned with two glasses of white wine.

"Thank you," Lindsay said before taking a large mouthful of the wine. She closed her eyes, inwardly cursing herself for being so nervous. She opened her eyes to find Stella looking at her with a curious look on her face. "Sorry…" Lindsay began, "I'm just…" "It's ok," Stella interrupted, "You don't need to explain"

Lindsay gave her a small smile, taking another mouthful of the wine, "Steady there…" Stella laughed, "I'm not going to bite. I phoned you the other day to arrange this meeting, now do you want to hear what I have to say?" she asked, smiling. "Yea…" Lindsay replied, setting the glass down.

Stella continued with a straight look on her face, she as neither smiling or frowning. "I called you because we have a job offer for you, you will be working among some of the best and I personally hope you would like to take it."

Lindsay just looked at her, trying to work out if Stella was joking with her or not. "When do I start?" she asked after a few minutes. "As soon as you can" Stella replied, smiling at her again.

"Ok…erm…when do you need me?" The alcohol had had time to get into her system by now, the nerves had gone completely. "How about tomorrow," Stella told her.

Lindsay nodded, "Okay" she said with a smile. Stella finished her drink and stood to leave, turning around she said, "you go home and get some sleep, you've got helluva day ahead of you tomorrow."
