Learning to fly in a flock

Toshinori was used to doing things by himself. He was the world's Number One Hero, the Symbol of Peace. There were expectations and all he ever wanted to do was help people. He kept his identity secret as well, distancing from everyone. There hadn't been room to let people get close. Toshinori carried the weight of the world on his shoulders and he was okay with it.

But no one ever offered him to help him carry the weight. No one ever offered to take care of him for once. Not until-

"Stop thinking so hard."

Toshinori twisted his head to see Shouta glaring at him with one eye.

"But-"

"You're going to wake Izuku," Inko murmured sleepily, wrapping an arm around Toshinori's waist and pressing closer.

Shouta pressed closer on the other side of Toshinori. "Go back to sleep," he grumbled. "It's too early to be up."

Toshinori blinked. "Okay," he said. He closed his eyes, surrounded by two people who loved him for him. He could rest. They could handle it, together.

Sometimes it's all about learning to lean on others.

Post Sensei's attacks, Toshinori is feeling less, in the wake of his end of his hero career, the loss of majority of his abilities and just a feeling of uselessness. It's a good thing he has Shouta and Inko to ground him. (And Izuku is a bundle of sunshine that Toshinori cannot say no to.)

Happy Holidays.
