The Masterless Race
It is said, long ago before our people discovered the cloning technology, we met a race that could resist the Goa'uld. A lost traveler happened upon an uncharted system. They were a strange peoples; part reptile, part mammal a sidestep in evolution on a planet quite similar to earth. There was no gate here, no primates, nothing that resembled humans or their kind.
A minor Goa'uld, whose name is lost in time, also found them fleeing Anubis' wrath. They had no spoken language; the legend says they were telepathic. They had no concept of god aside from the great Creator, who made them in her own image. The Goa'uld tried to subjugate them; tried to convince them of his deity, but they could not understand. Simply put, they did not fear him.
The Jaffa with him could not best them in combat. The race was simply too strong and nearly immune to their weapons. Those that carried mature symbiotes, tried to immplant them. But the mutations that changed their code was beyond anything with which the symbiote could integrate.
Alarmed, the Goa'uld fled the planet, his army in tatters. It is then he met Anubis and some say he managed to gasp the story of the masterless race to Anubis before he breathed his last.
Whether this is truth or fiction, my child, we do not know. No one else has ever seen this mysterious planet. Perhaps you will find it in your travels, or perhaps it is only a story.
