It's Alright
So this popped into my head as I was listening to this song, so I thought that I would just write a quick little one-shot. This is a future-fic Puckleberry all the way. The song is 'It's Alright' by Darius Rucker. I don't own Glee or the song. I am just borrowing them for my pleasure and for yours. When you get to the end of the story, please review and tell me if you liked it!
Puck was lying on his bed, halfway to sleep, when a song came on to his iPod. He lay there and listened to it before smiling at the words. He looked down at the girl laying next to him with her head pillowed on his arm, and saw that she was looking back at him with her dark brown eyes and a smile on her lips.
Cause I've got a roof over my head,
the woman I love laying in my bed
And it's alright, alright
I've got shoes under my feet
Forever in her eyes staring back at me
And it's alright, alright
And I've got all I need
And it's alright by me
He smiled back at her and they both laid there listening to the simple country song and both thought about how this all just felt natural. Puck started to sing the next part to Rachel while she just lay there listening to his rich voice fill her soul.
Maybe later on we'll walk down to the river
Lay on a blanket and stare up at the moon
It may not be no French Riviera
But it's all the same to me as long as im with you
It may be a simple life, but that's okay
If you ask me baby, I think I've got it made
Cause I've got a roof over my head,
the woman I love laying in my bed
And it's alright, alright
I've got shoes under my feet
Forever in her eyes staring back at me
And it's alright, alright
And I've got all I need
And it's alright by me
"Noah, that might be the sweetest thing that you have ever sung to me." Rachel said when there was a break in the lyrics.
"It's true. I feel like I have everything that I will ever need when I have you in my arms. I don't need anything else. Just you. Forever." Puck said earnestly.
"Then you will have forever, 'cause you will never be rid of me now." Rachel said, tears and forever in her eyes at Puck's heartfelt declaration.
"Like I would ever want to be. I never want to be anywhere else." Puck said, tucking Rachel more securely into his side. They both fell silent and let the last part of the song fill the room.
Cause I've got a roof over my head,
the woman I love laying in my bed
And it's alright, alright, alright, alright
I've got shoes under my feet
Forever in her eyes staring back at me
And it's alright, alright, alright
And I've got all I need, yeah
I've got all I need
And it's alright by me
Oh yeah, it's alright by me
"Yeah, forever is alright by me." Puck said as he and Rachel drifted off to Dreamland together and in each others arms.
So that's the story. I made this established Puckleberry 'cause, well it wouldn't have worked otherwise. Please review and tell me what you think of the song and the story. Reviews are always in vogue with me, so please review the story. I can't become a better writer unless people tell me what they like or dislike about the story. Blessed Be to all.
