Author's note: Whenever I get into a new fandom, I also fall *hard* for a pairing. I just wasn't expecting half of that ship to be married, which complicates things. I started writing this after episode 5 aired, and it was influenced in part by the preview for 6, but everything in here, including the reference I make to Ana being an assassin of some kind (an odd idea that popped into my head but may be played with again later), is non-canon and therefore can be considered AU. At any rate: please enjoy my first foray into this lovely ship...I don't expect it to be my last but my inspiration has been lately all over the place, so I can't make any promises at the moment.

It's Irresistable

Peggy Carter considered herself a woman of principle. Therefore: she can think of plenty of reasons why they shouldn't be doing this.

For one: Edwin Jarvis is married – though his wife did just try to kill them both and she supposes that will put a damper on the relationship. For her part, Peggy is still reeling from the loss of the love of her life, Steve Rogers (also known as Captain America).

Not to mention that they are both currently on the run. Distraction could easily mean death.

But it's been so long, and Peggy finds that she's craving contact: skin upon skin and the heat of a talented mouth against hers.

And Edwin is nothing if not a skilled lover.

There should be nothing romantic about this dalliance. It's a pure, base need that's driving them, but she finds herself very quickly lost in the sensation of elegant, well-trained hands trailing languidly over her naked form.

He takes his time to discover her: tracing maps along her bare skin, and lingering along areas that are more sensitive.

Never before has a lover figured her out so quickly, and she can't help but be impressed, exchanging eager kisses with him as they sink further back into the bed in the motel that they're currently hiding out in.

Peggy's head tilts back to grant Edwin better access when he nips at her jawline, their fingers entwining as he presses their interlocked hands into the crisp, white pillows.

She gasps when he bites in a playful manner at her earlobe, and when he pulls back to gaze down at her, there is a suitable amount of mischief glinting in his gray-blue eyes.

She smirks before lunging, capturing his mouth with a searing kiss as she shifts her weight and sends him toppling into the mattress.

A surprised grunt escapes him, but once he's completely at her mercy: it's evident that he doesn't mind the change of plans.

They battle for dominance for a while, and by the time they finally join together, Peggy isn't entirely certain who made the first move.

Not that it matters when they find that perfect symmetry: her legs locking around his waist as he once again pins her into the sheets, their mouths meeting over and over in passion-filled kisses as the heat between them builds steadily – until, at last, they fall.

It's not until much later: when they're lying, still entwined after countless rounds of lovemaking, that Peggy finally brings herself to say something: "Thank you Edwin…"

He meets her gaze, and takes advantage of the moment to brush her hair tenderly away from her eyes.

The gesture says more than words, and when they meet in a sweet, gentle kiss: she feels hope for the first time in months.

The End
