Sora bent down beside Kairi. He was frowning. "I beat Ansem, but what do I do now?" He muttered. He brushed a few hairs out of Kairi's face. Her hand moved. Sora smiled. "I'm happy your still alive, Kairi." He put his hand on her check, staring at her face. "I wish I knew how to wake you up though, so that you can meet my friend's and hear about my adventure. Also, I wish you were awake so I can tell you that I love you." He cradled her face in his hands, slowly stroking her checks. Then, he had an idea.
Ansem said that Kairi's heart resides in me, Sora thought, so why not free it? Maybe that will bring her back. Sora kissed Kairi's cheek and stood up, giving a wave to Donald and Goofy. "I love you guys." A tear rolled down his cheek, then he held up the keyblade so that it was facing where his heart was. "Sora! Wait!" Donald shouted. Goofy tried to charge towards him to knock the keyblade out of his hands, but it was too late.
Sora pieced the keyblade directly into his heart. Suddenly, bright lights came out of his chest. The first floated to Kairi and she awoke. "Uh... Sora?" She looked over to him as the keyblade fell out of his hands and disappeared. "Sora?!" She got up and ran over to Sora, hugging him. "Sora... No! Please don't go..." Sora hugged her back then gave her a kiss on her cheek. "I love you, Kairi." He disappeared and in his place there were many bright lights, they floated to where the princesses were, waking them up as they went into their chests.
"Sora..." Kairi cried, hugging a person who wasn't there. "I was there with you Sora... You didn't have to save me... I've seen all of the wonderful things you've done and all the friends you've made. I even heard when you said you loved me... Why did you have to do that?" She cried for a minute or so. Donald and Goofy removed their hats and hung their heads low. Suddenly, many Heartless appeared. Kairi was the first one to notice. She wiped the tears away and looked over to Donald and Goofy. "We need to go now! The place is overrun with heartless!" Goofy frowned. "But, Sora..." He seemed like he didn't want to leave. "No time! We have to leave! It's what Sora would've wanted!" Kairi started to run out the room. Donald and Goofy followed.
Suddenly, a single heartless appeared into the room they had run into, seeming to be attacted to Kairi, but didn't attack. "Get outta here, you stupid Heartless!" Donald tried to attack the heartless, but it wouldn't attack back or run away. Goofy did the same. "Wait guys... There's something different about this one." The Heartless stared at Kairi. She walked up to it. "Sora?" It tilted it's head to the side.
Heartless appeared around them and leaped out to get Kairi. "No!" Donald yelled. When it seemed as if Kairi would die to the hands of the Heartless, being surrounded by them and unseen by Donald and Goofy, she hugged the heartless who she thought might be Sora. Then, a bright light shone and all the Heartless flew back. In the place of the Heartless Kairi had hugged, there was now Sora. "Sora! You're back! You're alive..."
Sora hugged her. "Everything was so dark... I-I was falling. I started to lose track of who I was and the people I loved... All my memories vanished. Then, I heard your voice and I started to come back. Thank you Kairi... I love you." Kairi giggled. "I love you too, Sora." Together, Sora, Kairi, Goofy, and Donald escaped Hollow Bastion. They went back to Traverse Town where they were then safe, and Kairi and Sora were now together again.
