He didn't know where he was or how he got there from his warm bed but he knew something was wrong. Edward looked around trying to figure out his location. All he saw were trees, bushes, and dirt. "Great. It's the middle of the night and I'm trapped in the woods." He sighed before choosing a direction and walking. Maybe he would get home by morning. Suddenly he heard a high pitch scream to his right. Turning quickly he ran towards the scream. Shoving past bushes and branches he finally saw who had made the noise. Right before his eyes he saw Greed and Envy pinning down his pregnant wife on the hard ground. "Let her go!" he yelled and ran at Greed. The tall man left Envy and threw a punch at him. Ed ducked and punched back getting blocked. As they passed hits back and forth Ed was also trying to get at Envy who was torturing WInry. Her cries of terror pierced the night. "Winry!" he yelled trying to attack Envy now but Greed continued to block him. Ed punched him in the jaw with his automail arm hearing a crack. Not the right sound though. This was the sound of cracking metal. Before his eyes half of his arm shattered away. Greed laughed. "Don't get so cocky." He said as he aimed a powerful kick at the side of Greed's head. This time a loud popping noise and Greed stumbled back. Now he had a chance at Envy. He went to run and fell to the ground. The pop had not come from Greed but from a bolt in his knee coming out. He hit the ground hard and couldn't get up. He tried to crawl to her but Greed sat on his back pinning him down. He called out to her as he reached out, trying to do anything. The dirt was to packed for him to draw his transmutation circle in. all he could do was watch as he tortured her.
He shot up in bed gasping for air. "It…It was just a dream…" he sighed and turned to make sure he hadn't woken his wife. She wasn't in bed. He got up to see if she was in the bathroom but the door was open and it was empty. "Where is she? She's supposed to be on bed rest…" he sighed going to find where his wife had run off to. He headed downstairs and saw the kitchen light was on. "you could have just woken me Win." He said heading over. He stopped at the door. He went pail and began to tremble. "W…Win…?" She was on the floor in front of him. A light sweat trickled down her face and she was struggling to breathe. He ran to her side. "Winry come on! Winry please don't do this…" he tried to wake her. He felt helpless as he ran to the phone to call the doctor. Calling several times he got no answer and ran back to her to attempt to wake her again. "Winry come on. You have to wake up." He moved some hair from her face. "Think of William. And Emily is due soon. Your family needs you" He held her close and that's when he felt it. Her chest rise and fall one last time. "No no no! This can't be happening! Winry please. Don't do this! Wake up…" he clutched her tightly in his arms not noticing his blurring vision until everything went black.
He startled awake and felt a pair of arms wrapped tightly around him and his pillow replaced with his wifes chest. "Edward... Are you okay?" she asked him in a soft voice. He looked up at her and she wiped his wet face with her sleeve. "You've been crying and yelling all night. What happened?" He told her about the dream trembling the whole time. "Ed stop. It was just a dream. Just all in your head." She told him stroking his hair lightly. He felt a thud against his chest. "Now you've woken the baby." She gave a joking smile. "Get some rest. You're making a food run in a few hours." They both laughed at this.
