Here's a new story! My first new story in a while. I got really into Pumpkin Scissors and Oland just melts my heart. I'll post what Maria looks like and hopefully I'll update regularly. On to the story!

*Start*

Maria walked down the hallway of the main building of the Capital's Military base. "I know the personnel office is supposed to be around here somewhere..." She looked at the papers on her hand and looked around at the signs on the walls. "At least, it should be..?" She kept walking, her custom military issue boots barely making a sound as she made her way down the hall. Adjusting her grip on the heavy duffle bag she had over her shoulder, she continued to glance up and down from the papers to the walls. Distrated and confused she almost missed the white streak coming right towards her.

She unconsciously dodged the second her eyes caught sight of the white ball of fluff coming directly at her. The white dog slid to a stop and turned to face her. She blinked in surprise and amusement at the adorable ball of fluff. "Mercury! How many times do I have to tell you - you can't just go around biting people!" Maria turned her head to look in the direction the pup came from and saw a petite black haired woman with pigtails running in her direction.

woofMercury barked once and went to run again. The girl notices and shouts again, "Mercury! No boy, don't run away again! Please!" Maria pulled a piece of dried meat from her pocket and held it in the air. He stopped in his tracks and eagle eyes the treat she's holding. She gives a short high pitched whistle and he focuses on her instead. Maria makes a 'come to me' gesture with her hand and Mercury stepped up to her. She smiles and pats his head. "You're a good boy aren't you?"

woof woofMercury barks and his tail wags back and forth. "You remind me of my pup." Maria handed him the treat and laughed as he devours it. "He loves my homemade jerky too. You guys would get along just fine I'd bet." The girl finally gets to Maria and Mercury, catching her breathe and trying to apologize at the same time. "Oh! I'm so sorry! He's usually much better behaved." Maria chuckled and smiled at the girl. "It's completely alright." The girl looks at Maria's rank and nearly dies inside. "Oh! Ma'am! I am so sorry! Please don't hold it against Merc, he's just having a rough day. I promise it will never happen again!" She salutes Maria and tries to make amends quickly.
