Chapter 1: Doesn't he even acknowledge the people around him?

Mikasa's POV

"Alright practice is over, hit the showers", Coach Shadis yelled.

The whole football team including me all headed to the change rooms. I was the only girl on the team so for obvious reasons I had to different change rooms then everyone else.

I walked into the girls' change room. Quickly I strip off my clothes and make my way to the showers.

As I turn the nob water rushes out of the shower head. Because the school is on a tight budget the water is cold, but I don't care.

After the water washed away the dirt and sweat from my body I turned the water off and stepped out of the shower.

As fast as possible I rush to my locker and change into new clothes. After carefully twisting my straight black hair into a bun at the base of my neck I run out of the change room, through the side door that leads to the parking lot, and into the crisp air.

My eyes scan the area for a red car. After a few more seconds I spot it.

I make my way over and open the passenger seat door. Sitting down I look beside me at Armin who was currently in charge of driving me home after football practice. I look behind me and Eren was there as usual on his phone.

"Hi", I say to the two boys.

Armin smiles and greets me back but Eren continues to stare at his screen.

Me and Armin talk for the whole ride to my house. Eren sits in the back probably on his instagram account.

Finally, we made it to my house.

"Thanks ,Armin", I say.

" No problem", He replies.

Quickly I got out of Armin's car. I say my farewell. Armin responded with a warm smile and Eren with a quick nod.

I race up the steps to my house

Why did Eren always act like he didn't care? Doesn't he even acknowledge the people around him?
