As Edward became aware of his surroundings, the first thing he noticed was the pain was gone. He was dressed in his usual grey suit and cap. Everything around him was white mist and light.

He started walking along a path. He had yet to see anyone, but he felt good better then he had felt in a long time. After a time. He noticed someone standing in the distance as he got closer he saw that it was a young slim brunette and she was smiling at him.

As he walked closer he started to smile as well. "Emily, is that you?" he asked. Emily walked to him and kissed him on the cheek. "Yes Grandfather it's me, good to see you again."

Edward embraced his grand daughter."Oh child." He said. "I am so glad to see you." Looking around the surroundings "Where are we?" he asked her. Emily looked to Edward like he was an addled child. "Where do you think we are?"

"Is this really Heaven?" Edward asked

She smiled at him as they walked down the path toward a huge white gate. "Yes it is, Grandfather." Edward looked around in amazement then turned back to Emily; "You do understand my dear, that I had had questions whether I would make it this far."

Emily chuckled "Well there was some question about eligibility, but I put in a good word for you and so did someone else." The continued walking when a man's voice called to them. "Hello Father."

Edward glanced up and there stood Alan, his son. Emily and Edward both walked up to him. Emily kissed her father on the cheek as Edward and Alan looked each other over. Alan extended his had and Edward shook it as then they embraced.

When he could speak. Edward said; "It's good to see you again, Son" Alan smiled "Good to see you to Father." Gesturing to the gates "Someone is waiting." They all started walking toward the gates, suddenly Edward stopped in his tracks as a woman walked toward him. As she walked closer the man of stone Edward Quartermaine started to cry. It was his beloved Lila coming to him. walking for the first time in an age.

All he could say was "My Dear." Alan and Emily cried as well, when everyone could speak. "Edward I have been waiting for a long while for you." Lila said.

Edward kissed his wife on the cheek "You look well, Lila. I always knew you would be here." Laughing "I did wonder if we would be reunited again. I always thought I would end up some where's warmer."

"Well Edward, it was touch and go for a while." Lila said giving him a frown. "But I did put in a good word with the management."

"I'm glad." Edward said

Alan spoke up "Shall we go?" as they stated walking through the great gates. Edward stopped to look around.

Emily asked "Grandfather, what's wrong?"

Edward looked to his family in confusion; "Where's Jason?" Alan and Lila looked to each other in confusion.

Emily touched Edward's arm "He not here Grandfather."

He nodded sadly; "He got sent down to…"

"No he didn't Edward." Lila said. This brought the smile back to his face then he is here?"

"No, Father he's not." Alan said "There is one requirement to get in either here or down there." Edward looked confused.

"You have to dead first." Alan said. This brought a huge grin to Edward's face. "I am so glad to hear that."

Lila extended her arm. "Shall we go?" Edward took Lila's arm as the Quartermaine's walked though the gates. As they spoke Edward naturally had to gently tease Emily over something from the past when Lila told "Oh put a sock in it Edward."

Edward replied "Oh I have so missed you my dear."
