AN: Ok so yeah this is another tester chapter, one of the ones I couldn't resist writing out just to see how it looked. Either way it is a Harry Potter/ Fairy Tail crossover, both of which are fandoms I enjoy. With Fairy Tail probably being my favourite anime, alongside Full Metal Alchemist and the Seven Deadly Sins, which maybe controversial as some people love Fairy Tail and some people hate it.
Even so it is a world with a huge amount of potential, one with a lot of interesting characters and arcs which range from amusing to heart wrenching. Either way I've decided to write prologue and test the water so to speak, because I wanted to. With this story starting off from the Tenrou Island Arc.
Well it was this or a Percy Jackson/ Highschool DxD story, but I decided this one could be more interesting to write.
Hope you enjoy and leave a review.
Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter or Fairy Tail.

Prologue
(On Tenrou Island, in the year X784)
"Oummm, oummm…." A cross-legged young man steadily intoned, from where he was currently sat, in a tranquil, shadowy grove on the island of Tenrou, his eyes currently closed and his breathing slow and steady as he tried to clear his mind and become one with the world around him.
The man in question, was quite a striking one, with mane of wild, spiky black hair, lightly tanned skin, a slight yet athletic physique, and a distinctive, yet now quite faded lightning bolt scar quite apparent on his forehead.
Currently the meditating man was wearing only a pair of black shorts and some leather sandals, and nothing else, revealing his toned bare chest and the numerous scars he had dotted across his upper body, some of which looked like vicious claw marks, whilst others, like the one on his right forearm looked like a puncture mark from a single large tooth, whilst the wound on his other forearm looked like it had been caused by a long knife wound.
Keeping his eyes closed tightly shut, the man continued to regulate his breathing, before he once again let out the same peculiar sound as before.
"Oummm, oummm…" The man said again, his eyes clenching as he once again tried to clear his mind, something he had been doing for the last few hours now.
"Hey Harry, whatcha doing?" A curious voice suddenly asked from behind the man, the source of the voice being a young looking girl with sparkling, bright green eyes, and a mane of ankle length, golden blonde hair, which curiously enough had a set of wing like ornaments protruding from it, just above where her ears would be.
Noticing Harry's brow twitch, a slight smile spread across the girl's face as she continued to gaze down at Harry in childlike curiousity, her white robe like dress billowing around her as she did so, as if it were caught in a phantom wind.
"I'm trying to meditate, Mavis…" The now named Harry replied calmly, not opening his eyes as he instead continued to try and meditate, to no avail.
"And why are you trying to meditate?" Mavis asked again cheerily, her slight smile turning mischievous as she heard the hint of irritation that was creeping into Harry's voice.
"So I can achieve enlightenment and become one with the world…. and reach nirvana…" Harry replied back blandly, once again trying to clear his mind and meditate, trying to ignore the capricious Mavis as he did so.
"And how's that going for you?" Mavis asked in amusement, the girl having floated into the air as she did so, before twirling round so she was now lying down in the air, face to face with Harry, her smile widening as she saw his brow furrowing in concentration. "I mean haven't you been trying this for years now?"
"Forty two years and counting," Harry replied in a monotone. "And your constant interruptions are not helping."
"Oh, well that's mainly because I don't understand why you want to be 'enlightened'? I mean life is just so fun and exciting, don't you think?" Mavis replied cheerfully as she then began trying to poke Harry in the face, only for her hand to pass through his face like some kind of ghost or illusion.
"Yes, life used to be fun and exciting, at first. But what happens when everyone you know and love begins to age and die, whilst you are left alone and unchanged, with nothing but heartbreak and loss, as you are forced to walk this empty world alone…?" Harry replied, knowingly being melodramatic, as his face started twitching as he desperately tried not to smile, as he sensed what Mavis was trying to do, he may not be able to physically feel her poking him, but he his meditation, despite not leading him to enlightenment, had at least brought his ability to sense magic to a phenomenal level. Enough that he could sense exactly what the spirit like brat was doing.
"Well then you just make more friends and go on more adventures. You take satisfaction in the time you had with your friends and never forget what they mean to you! But you don't ever allow their loss to cripple you and stop you from living!" Mavis replied back, her airy voice somewhat at odds with the content of her words.
"I've tried that, it doesn't work, and no matter what you do there is always that dull ache of loss." Harry replied nonchalantly, opening his eyes this time to give Mavis a flat look, revealing as he did so a pair of bright, emerald green eyes, eyes which even as Mavis looked, seemed to have an eternal flame burning within them. "Take it from someone who has several centuries on you brat, life started losing its luster for me nearly half a century ago."
"Damn you're depressing, I mean, I'm little more than ghost and I'm more cheerful than you." Mavis replied in amusement, a slight pout on her face as she once again tried to poke Harry in the nose, her optimism and joy not wavering for a second, after all she knew he was purposefully being melodramatic now.
"I'm not depressing, I just have a more rounded understanding of life and existence than you." Harry replied with a roll of his eyes.
"So you say, doesn't stop you from being a bit of a downer. I mean just look around you, the island is beautiful, the day is warm and what are you doing? 'Trying to reach enlightenment…'" Mavis replied, sticking her tongue out childishly at Harry as she did so.
Harry's mouth twitched upwards as he heard that, once again finding it impossible to wallow in self-pity like he wanted to do when Mavis was hanging around, which for him was pretty much twenty four/ seven.
Still the girl might be a bit of a pain in the arse at times, but she was a truly delightful spirit, full of joy and happiness, completely selfless in the way she interacted with other people. The girl was impossible to dislike. Not that Harry would ever want to dislike her as for last forty odd years she had been his closest and only companion/ friend.
"We've already gone for a swim today, and a hiked up the great tree." Harry replied dryly as he glanced away from Mavis and over at the crystal blue waters that surrounded Tenrou Island, before his gaze then trailed over to the massive, two hundred metre tall tree that stood in the very centre of the island. A tree that was far too big than was supposedly possible, and far too large for the land mass it was sat on, though considering this was a world rich in magic, then maybe the fact that it was supposedly impossible, yet existed, wasn't so surprising. Magic was after all, both a wonderful and terrible thing,
"Exactly and don't tell me you didn't have a good time." Mavis replied her arms folded in front of her as she gave Harry an expectant look.
"Yes it was fun, but now I want to have some time alone." Harry replied before once again shutting his eyes.
Mavis rolled her eyes as she saw that, deciding to leave Harry to it for now. After all she had known Harry for a long time now and she knew he would come out of this momentary funk sooner or later. The man might be partially immortal but that didn't mean he was completely unaffected by age, after all the man went through phases, most of the time he was happy and cheerful and full of life, but sometimes he could be mopey and miserable. It all depended on how he was feeling on any given day. Of course considering the man was over four hundred years old, a few peculiarities here and there could be forgiven.
A slight frown passed across Mavis's face at that thought, before she looked back at Harry for a moment.
Over the many years she had known him, she had never gotten the full story of justhow Harry came to be partially immortal, or even how he came to be in this world, as according to him, he was originally from another world/ reality, one that was called Earth, as oppose to Earthland where he currently was.
From what little, Harry, had let slip though, Mavis knew that he had originally been a student of at magical academy called Hogwarts - a name she found very amusing -, however during his fifth year in the school he had broken into a government building, or more specifically a department within a government building, known as the Department of Mysteries. With this name being one that Mavis found somewhat more uninspired, especially when compared with a name like Hogwarts.
But anyway Harry had never gone into his reasons for going into the department, only that they were personal, but apparently whilst there he had fought a group of Dark Wizards, the 'Death Eaters', and had ended up falling through a magical portal or, veil, as he called it, one that had brought him to Earthland. His body shredded and his life almost extinguished by whatever magic powered the portal.
What happened after that Mavis wasn't entirely sure, as Harry was more often than not cagey about certain details of his past, never really giving a full story or explanation, but instead just making the occasional comment or unexplained reference, which she would then collect up and use to put together aspects of his past, much to his amusement as more often than not she was wrong. Though when she was he did tell her, and even gave her the real story.
Of course the mystery surrounding Harry, was one of the many things Mavis liked about him, after all if he was as open as a book it would remove all the mystery, and Mavis loved a good mystery. In fact in recent decades she had even made a game out of trying to tease out as many facts about Harry's life as she could.
After all she had been floating around here for close to one hundred years now, and a girl with no physical body needed at least some entertainment.
So far, she knew Harry had been fighting against a Dark Wizard called Voldemort in his world, and that some kind of prophecy might have connected the two, one which was now likely defunct due to him being here.
She also knew that the source of his partial immortality was dragon related, as he had briefly told her how a powerful, and old, yet kind dragon had apparently found his dying body when he had first arrived in this world, after which, on a whim the dragon had then imparted a portion of his own into Harry, to save him. After which over the course of a number of years the dragon had taught him his magic, the old dragon passing on its mantel to the oddity that was Harry, before he passed from the world.
Which of course made Harry capable of Dragon Slaying Magic, as well as the diverse range of individual magic spells he had known before he had arrived here, though what kind of Dragon Magic he knew, Mavis wasn't aware of. Nor was she all that sure how being infused with a portion of the dragon's magic had made him immortal…
Though considering he hadn't aged in the forty odd years she had known him, ever since he wandered onto her island, he hadn't aged, which led to her giving him the benefit of the doubt.
Either way, from there Mavis had only really been able to infer the other bits and pieces of his past that she knew from Harry's nostalgic reminiscing about his old mentor and the world he had briefly lived on, as well as his occasional story about the Dragon Wars, which took place around four hundred years, and his distain, fear and borderline hatred of one dragon, called Acnologia. A dragon Mavis also knew to be called the 'Black Dragon of the Apocalypse Dragon', one of the most powerful beings in Earthland.
Of course she had never really outright asked Harry about any of the stories of his past, after all that would have spoilt the fun, instead she just tried to prompt him into giving away slivers of his past, so she could put them together like the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. Again a girl got bored, and there was only so much she could do on the island, as much as she loved it.
Pushing those thoughts to one side for now, and taking her mind off of her enigmatic companion for the moment, Mavis instead floated to the edge of Harry's hidden grove, on the coast of the island and deep within the tangled roots of the Tenrou Tree, roots which infested the majority of the island.
It was as she was doing this that Mavis's green eyes lit up in excitement, her gaze now looking out at the distance horizon, seeing as she did so, a large wooden ship in the distant, one which had the symbol of a fairy on the sail, a fairy with wings and a tail. The symbol of the Fairy Tail Guild, a Wizarding Guild she herself had created on the mainland, Fiore, close to one hundred years ago, with her three friends, Yury Dreyar, Warrod Sequen and Precht Gaebolg.
"So it's that time again." Mavis mused to herself, a slight smile on her face as she saw the ship slowly approaching the coast, knowing as she did so that the ships approach could only mean one thing, after all it came to the island of Tenrou at a similar date every year, all so that a select group of wizards from the Guild could take the S-class trials. A set of trials that allowed the current Guild Master to test the skill and ability of his strongest wizards, with those who passed the trial, being allowed to gain the highest rank the Guild offered, S-class.
"Hey Harry!" Mavis called as she floated back over to the silently meditating Harry, her gaze momentarily draw to the black Fairy Tail symbol she could see on his back, a symbol she had insisted on giving him decades ago. "The Fairy Tail Guild are here, and they're about to do the S-class trials again."
Opening a single eye, Harry let out an audible sigh. "Is it really that time of the year again?"
"Oh cheer up, you always love watching all the Fairy Tail Guild's shenanigans." Mavis replied with a slight laugh, knowing for a fact that watching the crazy wizards always cheered him up, and would likely knock him out of the funk he'd been in for the last few days.
"They wreck the island, and they are always so noisy!" Harry replied with a sniff as he shut his eyes again, his chin raised as he feigned disinterest in their arrival.
"And you can fix the damage with just a flick of your fingers, now don't be so grumpy and watch." Mavis replied with a laugh as she tried to pull Harry to his feet, only for her hands to go through him once again, which led to her falling backwards comically.
"Can't, I'm meditating." Harry replied back, hiding a smile as he imagined Mavis's pout, the both of them knowing full well that Harry would likely stop what he was doing and watch the trials, as he did every year.

As it turned out Mavis was indeed right about the Fairy Tail Guild's arrival knocking Harry out of his contemplative state, as he even went so far as to forget about unsuccessfully meditating and trying to find 'inner peace', as he instead stood with Mavis, prepared to watch the S-Class Trials take place, like he did every year.
His green eyes positively twinkling with curiousity as he saw the selection arrive this year, obviously recognizing the pretty, white haired girl, Mirajane, whose magic allowed her transform in a demoness at will, as well as the red head, Erza, who could reequip her armour at will, and liked playing with swords. After all he had seen both of these girls go through their own S-Class trial several years ago.
The only shame was that he couldn't see the angry, blonde Lightning Dragon Slayer, Laxus, as he usually found that kid's fights amusing. Plus he also got preferential treatment from Harry, because as a Dragon Slayer he was one of Harry's kin. Luckily though the orange haired wizard in the cloak had come, Gildarts from what Harry remembered, an incredibly powerful wizard, and one with a terrifyingly dangerous magic.
Edging forwards a grin came to Harry's face as he saw these S-Class wizards step foot onto the island before they disappeared into the undergrowth, each of them heading to a different spot on the island, where they would then challenge the wizards doing the test.
"If only I knew some kind of scrying spell." Harry muttered as he saw the different wizards disappearing.
"You say that every year." Mavis laughed, her own gaze on the ship which was still out at sea, gleefully watching as close to a dozen wizards disembarked, using their magic to harry their competition as they each did their own thing, some of them swimming, some flying and one even turning a portion of the sea into ice and then running across it.
"That's because I don't want to miss out on any of the action." Harry replied, unperturbed as he instead just used his enhanced sight to watch the wannabe S-Class wizard's race to the island. "If only I'd paid more attention in school, they might have mentioned how one would go about making a spell like that."
"Trial and error?" Mavis shrugged, before grinning. "It was how I created most of my spells."
Harry rolled his eyes at that. "And I have improved upon my basic repertoire, and pushed what I do know as far as I can. Beside I learned a whole new magic when I got here, and mastered it to!"
"Then why are you complaining?" Mavis replied cheekily. "I mean I thought you were supposed to be some big, bad Dragon Slayer?"
"And I am." Harry replied with a sniff, his arms crossed now. "But I can still bitch about how my younger self was a lazy shit at school."
"I don't know, the magic you've shown me from your homeland, it might lack in the sheer power of Earthland magic, but it is still pretty versatile..." Mavis replied comfortingly, trying to pat his shoulder as she did so, only for her hand to once again go straight through him. Still despite that Harry did start grinning cockily at that. "In regards to the basics."
Harry's smile disappeared at that, before he gave Mavis a sour look. "You couldn't resist could you?"
"Well even spirits need to have a little fun." Mavis chirped, a grin on her face as she saw the first of the Fairy Tail wizards make it onto land, only for them all to separate into pairs and then disappear into the undergrowth, heading down one of seven different routes, each of which had a glowing number above it, a number that disappeared once a pair had entered, a glowing blue barrier springing up behind them and blocking the entrance as they did so.
"Alright then let's go watch, I want to see what happens." Harry then replied enthusiastically, Mavis grinning along, both of them eager to see what kind of chaos was about to unfold.

Unknown to the two of them, several miles from the coast of Tenrou, a large, black airship flew through the air, its magic powered engines flaring as it made rapid progress to its destination, the symbol of a thorny heart clear for all to see on the side of its hull.

AN: So what did everyone think? I hope you enjoyed it?
This story has a Harry Potter who was fifteen when he fell through the veil and has since spent the last few hundred years on Earthland. Whilst there he has mastered the spells he had been taught at Hogwarts at that time in his life, and has made a few bastardized spells of his own, based off of his memories. More importantly than that though he has also leant some Earthland Magic, primarily a type of Dragon Slayer magic, one which he learned a long long time ago. Which may mean something to people who are savvy with the fandom.
On top of that he has also struck up a close relationship with Mavis Vermillion and has made Tenrou Island his home for the last few decades, for reasons which will become apparent. On top of that he has grown up to have an interesting personality, which I am going to say now is neither angsty nor emo.
Anyway this is the story, I hope it is well received and you review.
My next chapters will be for my PJ/ game of thrones story, and potentially my PJ/ RWBY one. However if interest is shown in this I will also put aside time to get another chapter of this story out.
Thanks for reading.
Greed.
