Alphonse stood, staring at the door that was etched with ornate swirls and runes before him. The rest of the world around him was a solid white with no seams. "Take my alchemy," he finally said. "I don't need it."

Kneeling and reaching out an arm, the evil Truth grinned at him. Are you sure? Your brother would be quite willing.

Yes, Ed would be. But Alphonse couldn't let his brother sacrifice again for him. He would get his body back on his own. Ed wouldn't have his arm, but he keep his alchemy. It was part of who he was, and Al couldn't take it away from him.

"Yes."

The last thing Alphonse saw was shadows with eyes reaching out for him.
