SUMMARY: To protect the one thing that matters most, Vickie and Chavo make a deal with the devil that could cost them everything.

ADDITIONAL NOTE: in this ficverse, Chavo Guerrero is the United States champion. (this fic has been in the planning stages for awhile, so the decision to make Chavo the US. Champ came long before the Benoit tragedy).
The Devil in the Details
Prologue
Chavo Guerrero walked down the hallway of the arena, his new US title belt slung over his shoulder. He felt no joy or delight in his new championship. Under ordinary circumstances, he would have loved kicking Mr. Kennedy's butt for the belt.
But these were far from ideal circumstances.
As Chavo made his way down the hall, something stopped him. Pausing, he listened until he heard the sound again. Confirming what he already suspected, Chavo turned to head in the direction of the soft sobbing. Soon enough, he found his sister - in - law between two of the production crates, crying.
"Vickie," he said softly.
"Shal called," the older woman said. "She said she and the other girls were going to live with Herlinda and Hector. She even said what I was doing was disgracing their father's legacy."
Chavo sighed, taking his sister - in - law in his arms and letting her cry everything out.
As he did so, he silently cursed their blackmailer.
I know it's short but there's more to come. How soon it'll come it's hard to say. It'll depend on certain factors.
