Unexpected Guest

The dark night sky drew over London, the billions of stars glistening and the moon as bright as the sun. A faint noise came from in the distance. A girl in the park had heard it, she quickly looked round, but there was nothing there. She carried on pondering over her thoughts, and what that sound might have been. The sheer thought was so incredibly irritating to her. She suddenly stood up, turned and strolled into the shadowy path back towards her house. She kept on imagining that there was something following her, she pushed the idea out of her mind after a few minutes. A gentle rustling in the bushes behind her made her glance back, but thinking it was just her imagination, carried on walking. She began to stare up into the sky at the moon, as if mesmerized by it. A slow whisper crept into her ear, "Don't move, don't even think about it, you hear me, don't move."

She was temped to look back but out of fear she stayed perfectly still, like a statue.

"Who are you, why are you following me, are you….."

The area went silent as the girl lay on the ground, eyes wide open as if she were paralyzed. Something was looking down on her, but she couldn't quite make out what. What ever it was had now begun to talk again, "Do you know who I am?"

The girl replied, "No, I don't think so, wait." She reached out and it leapt back reluctantly. She tried to get up but it whispered again, "Don't move, don't even think about it."

She froze once again, looking directly upwards she could see it looking down at her again. She was nearing terrified when she heard a pair of footsteps close by. She craned her neck round and saw the cloaked figure talking to another. She quickly turned back as she saw one of them look at her briefly. They were almost the same, the only distinct difference was in their voices, one spoke very quite and the other didn't seem to care whether anyone heard him or not. She carefully began to get, trying her best not to attract any attention. She was almost up when something came flying at her and knocked her unconscious.

She woke up, surrounded by a dozen cloaked figures now, she didn't know what was going to happen to her, but had a rough idea. They all parted and walked away except the two that were there before. They just stood there, staring at her, watching her tremble with fear as they approached once more.

"Can you stand?" one of them asked.

She tried to answer but found her mouth covered and when she opened her eyes, everything seemed much darker. When her reply came out all muffled, the two figures looked at each other, then back at her, "Come with us now" they said persuasively.

The girl, not knowing what was going on at the moment, followed, not out obedience but out of wonder.

They led her deep into the forest; she looked around, lost and afraid. They gestured for her to go on ahead. She walked extremely carefully through the vast expanse of woodland. About two or three minutes after leaving the guides she saw a red light, flashing up ahead. She began to pick up the pace and the object got clearer and clearer. When it finally came into view she stopped dead. She had never seen anything like it. She was now absolutely petrified of what was waiting inside, but she wanted to find out. She carried on slowly, but suddenly dropped to the ground. A figure emerged and whispered to itself, "Subject showing side-effects from transformation."

She wanted to ask but remembered that she couldn't. The figure walked over to her and said gently this time, "Don't move, don't even think about it, just stay still, it's going to be all right."
