Our Story
Chapter 1: Prologue
'I had never expected to meet her. Meet her on the Gurak Continent at that. A desolate place full of despair, pain, and suffering; but she was there. A being that did not belong there at all... But was never more needed to be in that one spot.
She laid there, basking with all her proud glory, yet I also sensed this pain lingering in her soul. Weakness, yet strength... And I now know that she knew it was there too.
I did, of course, acknowledge her beauty, her uniqueness. For had I never laid eyes upon a half-serpent, half-woman before, but my first react was to draw my lance and question her presence.
The annoyance on her face was plain as day. An expression I would see often in the years to come. Alice Fateburn was her name. How I would cherish the name as it rolled across my tongue day after day. A privilege that I now miss being able hold to. Beauty and love is what that name meant to me...
She was not the first woman I had tried courting and making my own, but there was never and had never been a woman or a romance like her.
Our love was not always good... Often it was filled with blood, pain, fear and jealousy, for her name had not always been the only name to pass my lips. A long time ago the name 'Calista' often escaped me.
Calista's often sat upon my lips, for accidents came to pass with that woman... But Alice was always there, our moments sweet and seemingly never ending. Never had I ever considered losing sight of my mission until Alice arrived.
She changed everything.
They changed everything... And now they are lost to me forever... All I can do is pray they shall forgive me, and shall not forget me...
May the Goddess spare my soul...'
