Even in the secretive world of shinobi, Shino was a bit of a mystery. Quiet, hidden away in plain sight and oddly sensitive for as socially awkward as he was, not much was known about him outside of the fact he was an Aburame and he hosted a bunch of chakra eating bugs inside him.

Then there was the other side of him that only Team Eight seemed to be aware of.

"This is... This is utter madness!" Hinata exclaimed as she tried to make heads and tails of the papers spread out before her.

Kiba snorted, glancing up from the magazine in his lap.

"This is madness? No, this is... Spartaaaaaaa...!" he teased before shifting his attention back to the article at hand.

Hinata frowned, considerably tempted to toss the file in his face; let him deal with the haphazardly filled out papers and incorrectly filed reports. It was his fault that they were in this sorry mess, anyway (ignoring that both Shino and herself should have known better than to trust him to do the mission reports—it was no secret that Kiba wasn't the most meticulous of people, to say the least). Unfortunately, Kiba's fault or not, they really needed to get this mess figured out tonight so they could turn in their end of the year reports to the Hokage in the morning...

… More's the pity, she lamented, lightly fingering a particularly heavy case file as she softly glowered at the still chuckling Inuzuka.

"This is serious." she corrected crossly, grinding out the words as sleep deprivation and worries grated on her usually pleasant demeanor.

"Why?" Shino asked, his face as clear and passive as ever, beneath his outer wear, "Is someone threatening your people with slavery and death?"

Kiba's sudden rough laughter was not appreciated by Hinata even if Shino's little known humor was greatly appreciated by the Inuzuka.
