Artemis' feet pounded hard against the forest floor the branches scraping her skin and uniform leaving her arms and legs bloody and heart was thumping out of her chest and her breath was ragged, but she was so close. The trees and brush around her began to disappear but not before a thick branch hit her in the head. Artemis knew she must look crazy to the pedestrians around her: a bloody girl running from a shadow, slipping in and out through alleyways. Finally she saw a firmiliure door, she bounded up the steps, not having the energy Artemis merely slammed her body against the door letting her self fall the welcome mat and let the darkness take her.
Wally had gotten up to get a midnight snack having his very fast metabolism he often had these. When he heard a loud "thump" come from the door then seconds later a less audible crash, this sounded like trouble. Wally quickly got into his uniform and walked cautiously the the door and opened it, he expected a man with a gun or bat wanting money, but what he saw broke his heart and almost made him puke. On the threshold was a bloody and bruised Artemis laying unconscious with a shredded uniform. After the shock had worn away Wally acted quickly.
Wally had carried the broken Artemis bridal style to MT justice and lay her down on the table in the infermery. He felt her pulse it was barely there. What was happening hit him suddenly hit him hard and a tear streamed down his face.
"don't worry Artemis. Your going to be ok"
when he looked down at his hands they were all bloody- with her blood. Knowing he had to contact the team he shouted through the com
"ROBIN! MEGAN! KALDUR! Get over to MT justice NOW it's artemis!"
About two minutes later everyone was there all gathered around the wounded archer working to heal her many wounds when robin spoke up
" it looks like she's really hurt, I better call bats and green arrow. This is serious"
wally didn't reply just held Artemis' hand looking at her with teary eyes, her blood still on his hands.
Three minutes later batman and green arrow were in the infirmary, arrows eyes a little watery
"What happened?!"
wally spoke up
"I found her on my doorstep like this, I don't know what happened"
