It all started on that day. The day when he first met her and being saved by her. In 2009, when his rocket first crash landed on Mars, he had somehow felt that he was going to die what's with him having a large amount of hyper-oxygenated fluid in his lungs for liquid breathing. He had tried to cough violently in an attempt to remove it yet it was all in vain as he felt his consciousness kept slipping out.

It was exactly when he almost gave up on his life that he first saw her. At first, he didn't even know who is she. It was her blond hair that he noticed first before he saw her eyes. Those emerald green eyes of hers were beautiful and as his consciousness slipped out, he thought that perhaps it wasn't so bad that it was the last image that he saw in his life. Yet as that thought also started to slip out of his mind, she surprised him with her actions. The girl, whoever she is, assisted him with reverse mouth to mouth resuscitation which resulted on saving his life and also his father's life.

It was later when he was well enough that he found out just who she is. The first young princess of Vers Empire, Asseylum Vers Allusia. It was her who saved him and his father when they were dying. He was eternally grateful to her as she continues to show her compassion and kindness to him. And as he starts to live on Mars, he taught her of the Earth; about the sky, the sea, and the creatures that live there after he found out that she was interested over the planet. His admiration for her only grows stronger as time passes by and slowly before he realized it, he starts to harbor romantic feelings for her.

He thought that even if he unable to tell her his feelings, he will be able to continue to stay by her side. Watching over her and accompanying her all the times. That even though he has to endure all the jeers and snide remarks the Martians gives to him as long as he could stay by her side, it will be alright. But everything changes on that day. When the Princess decided to go to Earth on a goodwill visit, he was hesitant on letting her leave. After all, despite his origin as a Terran, he knows that not everyone on Earth is as kind and compassionate as Asseylum. Nonetheless there was nothing he could do as she kept insisting on visiting the Earth, driven by her desire to finally see the blue planet which she admires the most.

"If only I stopped her... if only I insisted on going with her despite what Count Cruhteo said and thought..."

There isn't any single moments when he stopped thinking of that, wishing against all odds that he could turn back time and save her just like how she had saved him. But all was lost when he heard the news of her assassination during her visit on Earth. Or an attempt of assassination after he found out that she was save all along. Yet the fact that someone had attempted to assassinate the kind princess woke him up to the reality that no matter how much he wants to think in the good of people like how Asseylum always does, there is no denying that not everyone is like her.

"She is the only one. The only one who is special and different than any others,"

It was because of the situations and his needs to protect her that he decided to change. To become ruthless, to do everything even the underhanded way as long as it ensures him to gain power. To be powerful enough so he can protect her this time. Because she had been and always will be his world, his universe, his everything. Even if it will make her hates him and despise him, as long as he able to protect her and ensures her happiness, he will endure it. Because never again would he allow her to come to harm. Never again he wants to see her in her vulnerable state, seeing her life slowly slips out of her body. Never again.

"For this time... it will be me who protect you and save you..."

Authoress' Notes: So yeah... I decided to write a story for this fandom. Please blame my overactive imagination and my desires to write. The fact that episode 20 left me hanging and getting all fangirling also make me want to write a story for this fandom more. I totally fell in love with Slaine's character the moment I laid my eyes on him! His tragic life, his angsty behavior and how he still remained loyal to Asseylum is so heart-wrecking that I can't help but wanting this two to end up together. The fact that Inaho somehow shooted him after Slaine had helped him also make me dislike Inaho a lot. I know that there are many who doesn't really like Slaine but I prefer him over Inaho what's with his character development and all. Anyway, I apologize for the lack of updates over my other stories. There is no excuses I can give except the fact that my life had been busy and somehow I lost my muse on those stories along the way which is why I currently trying to capture it again. Yet I ended up with getting a new muse for this fandom. OTL

But I just can't resist the temptation to write a story for this fandom so please don't kill me for writing another stories when I should have use the free time I have to update my other stories instead of making a new one. Anyway, I'm going to update my other stories as well though it probably will take some times before I managed to update all of it since life had been pretty busy for me what's with me being in my almost end year of my college.
