A.N. This is my first fan fiction so don't be too harsh. Kind of fluffy with mostly H/G with a little R/H. Also I do not own Harry Potter.
I have killed Lord Voldemort. I have killed Voldemort. I have killed Tom Riddle. These and similar thoughts revolved in Harry Potter's head. The information hadn't quite sunk in yet. He was tired and weary as he walked out of the headmaster's office, but he knew he had to go see Ginny.
He headed towards the great hall in a daze, wondering what was coming next; it had been a long year of fighting and worry. All of a sudden the girl that he had been looking for, all his life if he was feeling philosophical, was standing right in front of him.
"Ginny!" he cried out and walked toward her, arms outstretched.
"Harry?"
For a moment she looked surprised. Then she looked furious.
"HARRY POTTER! Stay away from me you stupid noble prat!" She was screaming at him. "You left for months without so much as a word? You made no effort to contact me at all! Not even to tell me you were still alive!" Harry instinctively backed away as Ginny pointed her wand at his chest. "And then you come out of the Forest and I thought you were dead." Her voice broke at this last part. "I-I thought you were dead, do you know how horrible that was?" tears were now streaming down her face. "It felt like-like part of me had died."
She now ran forward into his arms, and he held her close. "I'm sorry, I just had to keep you safe."
"Harry Potter you stupid, stupid boy." She laughed quietly, still crying. "When are you going to learn that I can protect myself?"
Then before he could answer she kissed him. He has missed her so much. There would be time for explanations and understanding later. Now it was only him and Ginny.
"Okay, okay break it up you two." He heard Ron's voice coming towards them.
"Yeah like you and Hermione are much better, snogging in the middle of a battle."
Hermione flushed pink at this while Ginny looked overjoyed.
"Really? Finally I mean, really, I can't believe it took this long."
Hermione flushed an even deeper shade of red while Ron looked slightly put out.
"Oi! What's that supposed to mean?"
"You know exactly what it means. Everybody's been waiting for this to happen for years."
Ron opened his mouth to protest but Harry interrupted him before he could. "It's true Ron."
Hermione grabbed Ron and pulled him towards the Gryffindor breakfast table, knowing both that Harry would like some alone time with Ginny and that Ron would be starving.
Harry went to go for a walk with Ginny much as he did the first time they began dating. As much as the deaths of his friends rested on his heart he knew he could begin a new life as long he had the girl he loved. The future was bright. He no longer had the threat of Voldemort looming over him. The two walked out into the beautiful day and a new life.
A.N. I would love to know what you think about it. It was kind of cheesy at the end but I like it that way. Also, this story is a oneshot.
