So I challenged myself to write a fanfic of 150 words or less. This is slightly over that, but close enough.
And, I present, my short, not so sweet, Alice In Wonderland story written as a compare and contrast essay in history.
You can so tell I was slacking off.
xD
Disclaimer: I don't own it. Lewis Carroll does.
Alice glanced at the empty garden, quite confused. It was a desolate place, the silence ominously ringing in her ears.
The banners of once bright, vivid rainbow colors were now dull, drooping from their places in lackluster gray. The utensils on the table were clean and unused, shimmering as pristine porcelain. Yet the once fancy, beautiful cloth was tattered, faded with dust and abandonment. There was no food, or tea, and the chairs were bland and sullied from neglect, pushed in as if someone had left and never come back.
Where was Dormouse and Hare? Surely they wouldn't let their cheerful, fast and wild home of insanity and happiness fall to such dreary ruin. They wouldn't allow it.
And her Hatter…where was her Mad Hatter? The eccentric young man would have thrown a fit at how the party garden had fallen to pieces. He would have made sure that something this horrid wouldn't happen to his precious tea party. It always had to be perfect, absolutely spectacular and in tip top shape. Not a crumb would have been out of place in his presence.
What had happened?
Her questions were left unanswered, the only sound in the once enchanted wood a soft echo of an end in the cold breeze.
And there it is. Now press the pretty purple button and review. Because I said so.
I'll give you a cookie from the tea party!
