Disclaimer: I do not own Redwall or any of the characters in any of the Redwall books. The only things I do own are the characters I made up.

Takes place after Marlfox. Sorry i deleted my other Redwall story. It was a dud and i think this story will be written better.

Prologue

Trees shook with the wind and their weak leaves fell to the ground and lay as if on their deathbed. Some leaves fell on a sandstone abbey, some fell on the nearby ditch, some fell on the cold forest floor, and some fell on a nearby camp of cats, rats, weasels, ferrets, foxes, and one marlfox.

In the abbey, animals sat peacefully at a large table. There were mice, squirrels, otters, moles, badgers and hares. A squirrel maid sat at the head of the table. She looked as if the wind would pick her up and carry her, she'd seen so many seasons. Next to her sat another squirrel who was just as frail. The rest of the Redwallers sat around the table and were waiting for their Abbess to say Grace. The squirrel maid stood up and shook so slightly it would have been difficult to see without the eyes of a lover. The squirrel beside her took her paw. She smiled softly at him and spoke with a strong, yet soft, singsong voice that sounded as if the speaker were young, "I would like to ask my daughter, Lealark Reguba to say the grace tonight." A squirrel maid stood up quickly and strongly to say the grace so that everyone could feast.

The ditch near the abbey was filled with water, and filled with seals. The animals lay on top of each other quietly and stared around clumsily. The sight was odd and new to the area, which had never seen seals before.

The camp of the outcasts had a different mood. The sight wasn't as odd as newcomers, but it wasn't cheerful either. The marlfox turned to the group. "Everyone but you thinks all the marlfoxes are dead," she said, "Little did they know of me and my family. My family has more magic than Silth's family had altogether!" The creatures listening to the marlfoxes words seemed to prove her speech. They sat entranced as if she'd cast a spell on them. "We will use this to our advantage as we attack Redwall Abbey."
