Disclaimer: I do not own Ouran High School Host Club
A/N: I'm really really proud of this.
It was all about the game. It had always been, and they thought it would always be.
Which one is Hikaru-kun?
It had always been about those who could tell them apart, and those who couldn't.
And which one is Kaoru-kun?
There had only been two persons who could tell them apart, and it was the two of them. Many people had tried, but failed. Then they had laughed it off, like it didn't matter whether they were two persons or just one.
That one is Hikaru-kun. A pointing finger.
The others had never much cared for who was who. They thought of them as one person anyway. They figured, since they were the same on the outside, they had to be the same on the inside, too.
Wrong.
They were two totally different people. But only they knew.
That one is Kaoru-kun. A pointing finger directed on a redhead.
Hikaru and Kaoru always knew that they were different. Only the two of them had bothered to get to know each other enough to learn that they were different from each other.
No.
That, apart from what they saw in the mirror, they were different. They weren't the same on the inside.
Oh. I'm sorry.
No one ever bothered to get to know them enough to learn that weren't the same.
There's nothing to apologize for. You just don't care.
Therefore, the twins didn't trust anyone but each other and themselves. If no one cared about them, why should they care about others?
It's okay. It really isn't.
They trusted only each other. Why trust anyone who doesn't care about you?
Why trust anyone who didn't care enough to get to know you?
The only ones who cared enough about them were each other.
It's just a game.
