It's been a while since i posted a one-shot. I had this written a few months back and finally had time to sit down and type. This one-shot was inspired by Cynthia's song 'Thief Of Hearts'. I hope you guys enjoy!-JasZ
Davina Doesn't understand how she could feel the way she does… After fighting it over and over again; the boiling emotions that Kol Mikaelson has unleashed within her. How her heart races when they were inches apart. How safe she felt in his presence.
He would attempt to keep her safe. Allowed her to see a different side of him that no one ever saw. He never asked her for anything other than her trust. Always honest with her and aided her. The way he spoke to her in a manner that no one has ever spoken to her.
He stole her heart right under her nose. Just like she stole his. She was prepared to love him for the rest of her life. The promise of never letting her go… those promises that still echo in the empty halls. Instead of feeling the love she once felt in her heart… Her heart became an empty void of broken promises.
If she had known of the outcome of her relationship with Kol. She would have protected her heart from the heartache she's now enduring. Yet she still loves him. She can tell he still loves her as well. The stars still shine brightly in the night sky. The clashing emotions that are in consist war within her doesn't help her in her current dilemma.
She has tried to move forward… somewhat. But she goes back to the past. The words she uttered to let him know how much she loved him. the tears she spilled for him. She remembers how he trembled as he reached for her. The promises that were made broken in a shattering moment. How she cried over him as he took his last breath.
How hard she tried to bring him back. No one asked how she felt! Or if she was okay. No one cared for him or for her! She'd often cry herself to sleep. Dream of them dancing under the stars. How she'd leave him fresh flowers on 'his' grave.
How angry she feels when she sees couples happily prancing about as she bleeds. Josh was living her fairy-tale ending with Aiden that is until the fates ripped that away. Stealing Aiden away from Josh. They were both robbed of love. Yet the one chance she had to get Kol back. She was tricked and assaulted.
As she now lingers alone. Without a connection to the ancestors. Davina stares out of her window. Glistening tears stream down her cheeks as she whispers to herself.
"You broke my heart without meaning to. Broken your promises of never letting me go. I guess Marcel was right. You are a thief. A thief of hearts. You took yours and mine the night you passed on." She wipes her tears as her phone rings telling her Josh is there for some quality time.
