What we have

-Prologue-

Eli walked into his bedroom. He sighed, dropping his book bag to he floor, closing his door behind him. He walked over to his bed and dropped onto it, laying sideways with his face buried in the covers. He didn't want to get back up, he wished he could stay in his room forever. He looked up, tucking his arms underneath his head. He looked out his window and sighed. Today was a bad day for him. School didn't go so well, as usual and he was ready to just sleep the rest of the day away.

Eli rolled over onto his back, and stared at his ceiling. He closed his eyes, trying to escape from reality.

His phone started ringing, pulling him back into reality.

He sighed, and reached into his pocket. He stared at his screen. He didn't recognize the caller ID, and wondered if he should take the call. He shrugged his shoulders, and swiped his pone to answer the call.

"Hello?" Eli asked.

"Eli?" The voice on the other end asked.

Eli's heart skipped a beat. He knew that voice. He quickly leaned up, sitting on the edge of his bed.

"Selena...?" Eli asked.

"Oh my god, Eli! Yeah it's Selena, how are you!?" Selena asked. She was ecstatic.

"Holy crap...it's really you. How did you get my number? I'm good how are you?" Eli asked. He was in shock.

Eli and Selena were best friends when they were younger. When they were six years old, the two had been inseparable. When Selena turned ten, her family moved to Florida. This broke their hearts to say goodbye to each other. He missed her every single day, then after a couple years they lost contact with each other.

"I'm good! I found your house number in one of my mom's old phone books. I called your house, and your mom gave me your cell phone. She was so happy to hear from us. She flipped when we told her." Selena said.

"Told her what?" Eli asked.

"We're moving back." Selena cheered through the phone.

Eli's smiled, and couldn't believe what he just heard.

"No way...this is crazy...I can't believe it. When are you moving back?" Eli asked.

"We will arrive in Canada by the end of the week." Selena announced.

"The end of the week?! I can't wait to see you! It's been so long..." Eli said.

"Yeah five years to be exact." Selena said.

They were silent for a moment. They were both in a trance. They had so much to say to each other, but we're both speechless.

"Well I gotta run, we're still packing and there's a lot to do." Selena said.

"Okay, I'll save your number. It's so great to hear from you. I honestly can't wait to see you." Eli said.

"I know, me either. I'll see you." Selena said.

"See ya..." Eli said. He didn't think he would ever say that to her again.

Eli smiled at his phone while he saved her number. He laid back down, and stared at the ceiling again. Memories of their child hood poured into his head, and he couldn't stop smiling. He was going to see her again.
