"GRYFFINDOR!"
The table on the far left exploded in cheers. As the ragged old sorting hat was taken off my head, i ran over to where Albus,Victoire, James and Teddy were waiting for me. As i slid into the seat beside Albus, he patted me on the back and said "Yes! We're both in Gryffindor!"
I was the last person on the list so once i sat down, Professor Carmel stood up, and the great hall went silent. "Welcome! Welcome to Hogwarts! I hope that everybody had an amazing summer! Enjoy the feast!"
Professor Carmel sat down and clapped his hands twice. Suddenly platters filled with turkey, roast beef, carrots, sausages, potatoes, broccoli, and others foods appeared on the four tables. I piled my plate high with roast beef and potatoes and started talking to some other first years.
There was a girl named Claire, who had blonde hair down to her shoulders, gray-blue eyes and a few freckles.
There was also a girl named Angela, who had dark brown hair just past her shoulders and brown eyes.
Claire seemed to like quittich a lot. "it sucks that first years aren't allowed on the quittich team."
Angela agreed. "i know! We'll have to wait until next year."
I didn't care that much for quittich so i decided to change the subject. "i can't wait to do magic!"
Once everybody's plates were empty all the food disappeared and pies, cakes and many, many other desserts appeared. I had a piece of pie and a treacle tart. By the time i finished that i was absolutely stuffed.
Professor Carmel stood back up and the great hall went silent once again.
"i have a few start-of-term announcements to make before we head up to our dormitories. The forest in the grounds is off-limits to all students and No magic is permitted in the corridors. Also, quittich try-outs will be held in the second week of term. Contact Madame Hooch if you wish to play for your house team. Now, off to bed!"
