Disclaimer: I don't own Rookie Blue

A.N. As I was checking this site this morning, a huge thunderstorm rolled through and the power went out. Well, this story is what happens when you are obsessed with Rookie Blue and the second the power goes out you start thinking about "the scene".

It had been a few months since she had come to him for comfort. A few months since the lights had gone back on and forced her to remember where she was and who she was.

The whirlwind of her life had not slowed down since that moment. She debated heavily about what to do. Should she return to Luke and pretend nothing had happened or should she break up with him? Should she go back to Sam if she broke up with Luke? Would he take her back after running away?

Her warring head and heart gave her no rest. The conclusion came about on its own when Luke had accused her father of committing a murder. She couldn't go out with a man who accused her father. She also could not see herself spending the rest of her life with a person who constantly put his job over everything else. She had seen first hand that when Luke had a lead, he pushed everything aside. She realized that the nights that he did not come over, he was shorting himself on sleep to finish working on some case or other.

So, she broke up with him. He had not been hurt, and then she realized what Sam had said about a new rookie every year was true. She was hurt by that but she masked her feelings.

Sam knew they broke up but did not say anything about the subject. It was a few weeks later that Andy realized that she had to take the first step.

So here she was, standing on his front doorstep, as she had done months ago. Would he answer the door? Would he give her a chance to apologize? Would he give her a second chance? She knocked on the door.

He answered the door, surprised to see her. "Hey."

"Hi, can we talk?"

He looked at her. He knew that he should say no, he had no idea where this was going. But it was Andy and he couldn't say no. "Yeah, sure." He opened the door wider and beckoned for her to enter.

He led her to the living room and then motioned for her to sit down. He went into the kitchen and grabbed two beers.

He handed her a beer and then motioned for her to begin talking. "I'm sorry. What I did that night was wrong. I should have broken up with Luke right away. I don't know why I didn't. I knew from that night that I wanted you more than I wanted Luke." As she spoke, thunder began to rumble in a distance.

Sam looked at her and saw tears forming in her eyes. He moved closer to her. "Andy, it was what it was. I'm your training officer."

Andy looked at him. He didn't know what she was looking for but she must have found it because she threw herself at him. "But I want you to be more." She kissed him.

Eventually he broke the kiss. "Are you sure about this?"

She stood up and stretched out her hand to him. He stood up and she tugged him along to the bedroom. They repeated their first night like this, passion overtaking everything. Outside, the rain began pouring down.

Sam was in the same position as he had been when the lights went on that fateful night when the lights went out. "I guess this is a sign that we should have continued" he murmured.

Andy pulled him closer to her and giggled.

Hours later, the two of them were snuggled side by side in the bed. The room was still dark. "When do you think the power will go back on" Andy asked quietly.

"Who knows, I think it was a sign and we should just enjoy the quiet."

The end.
