Disclaimer: I don't own Laverne And Shirley
Carmine was annoyed and impressed at the same time.
"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING," he yelled at Shirl, "ACTUALLY FORGET WHAT WERE YOU THINKING. WERE YOU EVEN THINKING?"
"Carmine," Shirley said, "You don't understand."
"You're right. I don't understand. So explain to me WHY you were running into a BURNING building. You could have gotten killed. I don't see how I can possibly not get mad at you for this one!"
"If I hadn't run in Randy would have been killed. I lost my fiancée when I was seventeen years old. I couldn't let Lavern go through that."
Carmine softened a bit.
"Yeah but I could have lost you," he said, "Do you realize how much you mean to me. Shirl I love you angel face. If I lost you I don't know what I would do. You're my girlfriend and my best friend."
"Are you gonna get mad at me," Shirley asked softly.
Carmine looked thoughtful.
"I was going to," he said, "When I got the call that you were in the hospital I freaked out. I had no idea what was wrong with you. Then when I found out why you were in the hospital… well I thought you were insane. I was impressed and furious at the same time."
"But I was only in the hospital for a few hours," Shirley said.
"The longest few hours of my life," Carmine replied.
He ran a hand through his hair. Carmine Ragusso was Italian and had a talk to match it. He could be tough at times. He liked to be in control of situations. Well to be fair most people do. Carmine was very quick to get frustrated but not as quick to react.
"I can't," he said, "I'm angry but I'm more impressed then I am angry. You RISKED YOUR LIFE to save the life of someone Laverine loves. That's beyond friendship."
