When we first met I thought you'd just hold me down
Or get in the way of my path for vengeance
Because between you and me life was never particularly good to me
And that's all you'll ever need to know when I am around
But over time you proved your worth and told me it's ok
And you'd lessen some of my berthan by taking some of it
Why I asked? You said it was because we were now a team
I was surprised and didn't even know what to begin to say
But now we watch each other's backs through thick and thin
