Ciel's family has been slaughtered, his home burned to the ground. He is now dead to the world and without the vast wealth he had been accustomed to his whole life. Can he survive on his own? Will be be able to exact revenge by himself, or will he have to submit himself to darkness to gain the power he needs to destroy those who have wronged him? Rated M for adult content later on.

THE PROLOGUE

There was a time when Ciel Phantomhive had it all. A loving family, a beautiful home with vast wealth, and all the innocence that came with being a child that knew not the evils of this world. The Phantomhive estate was a place of joy and safety. Never in a million years would anyone have ever guessed that everything would end as abruptly as it did.

Certain parts of that night were still a blur to the boy, but other things he remembered all too well. Waking in the middle of the night to the sound of screams, finding the corpses of his parents, and then being abducted by the ones responsible for it all… but that wasn't where the nightmare ended. No, that was just the beginning. They took Ciel, tortured him as he begged for help, but no one came. They branded him with the mark of the "noble beast", smiling as the young Ciel cried out in pain. All the while, all Ciel could see was the emotionless masks they wore, the sound of their laughter and excitement filling the room.

That was all Ciel could remember with clarity. He could recall bits and pieces of other things that were done to him as well, things that no young boy should ever have to experience… things that would plague him with nightmares.

Regardless, Ciel managed to escape that hell, and found himself in an all new one. After fleeing the cultists whom had tried to sacrifice him, Ciel found his way back to his family mansion, only to find it had been burned to the ground. Not only that, but upon exploring the family cemetery, he found the headstones of not just his parents, but his own as well.

Ciel had lost it all. He had lost his loving family, his beautiful home, his vast wealth, and above all else, Ciel had lost his innocence.

He would get vengeance. No matter the cost.
