"Zeek, you go on ahead. Me and Fiona want to be alone." Van's gray eyes glimmered in pity, and perhaps a speck of humor as the Organoid's head drooped and he walked on ahead. This situation seemed strangely peculiar.

Fiona looked over at Van, who felt eyes upon him. He turned his head toward her, and she said nothing, instead sparing him a smile. He felt her shoulder collide with his upper arm, and nudged her back with a small laugh. Her playful nature wasn't surprising in the least.

"Be grateful Thomas didn't follow us this time," Fiona said finally.

Van smirked. "How many times did I threaten to shoot the mysterious person behind me before he got the picture?"

There was another laugh, shared between them. "Well, next time, bring a gun, so you'll be more convincing. Thomas isn't that stupid, you know."

"I know, but man, he gets on my nerves."

She nodded in agreement, her eyes flickering in humor. "He's not in love with you."

They continued on in silence, needing no words between them to say anything. Fiona looked up at the sky, her walk slowing considerably. Van, who followed about half a step behind, collided with her shoulder, stopping himself quickly enough to catch her arm and keep her from falling over.

"Watching the sky too?" She asked, dreamily.

He knew all too well the effect the two moons and infinite number of stars had upon her. She looked back at him for a mere second before she turned her attention to the sky. It was a beautiful night, clear and bright. Something to his left, something in a bush moved just a little to sneakily to be a creature.

"We're being followed," He said, grabbing her arm.

Fiona became serious, giving him a look that said nothing, and something at the same time. "Is it...?" She whispered.

Van nodded and pulled her closer to him, so that his hand rested on her lower hip, and so her hands could rest atop his. She turned, and thought for a moment.

"I'm getting sick of this," She said, walking primly to the bushes, reaching in and pulling out an astonished Lieutenant Thomas Richard Schubaltz by the collar. "Thomas," she said, in a no-nonsense tone, "Do you know why we come out here and why Van said 'We want to be alone?'"

Van watched the scene unfold in shock. This was something new. "Fiona-"

"Why would you want to be alone with him?"

There was a sigh of annoyance. "Haven't you been over this with Irvine?"

"Been over what?" Van's eyes were spiked with both humor and curiosity.

Thomas poked his index fingers together. "Miss Fiona, I thought- that is I mean..."

Fiona walked over to Van, placing a hand over his heart. Van looked down at her hesitantly. What was she getting at. "Let's just cut to the chase," She said all too knowingly. "Then I can have you all to myself."

"I thought Thomas was in love with you, remember?"

"Ah," She said, with a tap of a finger to his lips, "But if he passes out because I do-" She got up on her toes and pressed a simple, chaste kiss to his lips- "that-" There was a thud behind her, to which Van laughed richly, "I get you to myself. And Zeek's too far ahead to disturb us."

"Thank you Thomas," Van said smartly, grabbing Fiona's hand and continuing ahead.

Fiona nudged him again. "So, what are the chances he has amneisa?"

"Afraid the secret'll get out?" He asked her, with a smirk. Their secret, well, there was a chance that secret just got out...

Fiona laughed. "Not really. I'm more afraid that next time, I won't have the same effect."

Okay, so I've pretty much decided, that because of lack of one-shots in the Van-Fiona area, I'd dedicate a slab of my (not so) awe-inspiring talent to write a few one-shots and slap 'em together to create a little fandom all in itself...

Read and Review, it's all I've got since I do this for free... hahaha

Distant Storm, signing off.
