The bell rang. The one that shows that a new tale had begun. Chase and I were practicing Itari with the fey. We all crowded in the courtyard, trying to figure out whose tale had just started. Chase stood next to me with our hands intertwined. Lena was sitting next to the Tree of Hope with her boyfriend, Kyle.
"Congratulations," Lady Aspenwind, the new Director exclaimed. "Rory Landon, Chase Turnleaf, and Lena LaMarelle! Your tale has begun." She began to clap, along with everyone else.
Chase seemed to love the attention. He started waving like he was a movie star or something, while he weaved us through the crowd. Once we were up next to the podium Chase put his arm around me and kissed my cheek. Lena came to a stop next to me already trying to figure out what "cool" new inventions to bring.
"Please proceed to the Library," Lady Aspenwind continued. "Rumpelstiltskin has some research to share with you."
Lena practically sprinted into the Library, probably to tell Rumpelstiltskin EVERYTHING. Chase just stood there staring at me. "Wait," he started. "What tales have had three people before?"
It took me a second to realize he was talking to me. "We're the triumvirate, Chase. Probably something to do with that." We walked into the Library to see Lena and Rumpelstiltskin pretty much debating about what our tale meant.
I looked down at the book. The pages were already turned to the newest tale, ours. The title was:
The Tale of the Last Triumvirate
I looked at the pictures. The first one was me and Chase in front of the frost covered door in the Snow Queens palace. Our faces were inches away from each other. My cheeks flared with memories. I looked over at Chase who was, smiling in that cute, shy way that I've only seen him do on a small occasion.
I started to read the line on the next page:
Though, the Triumvirate had defeated the greatest threat known to the magical and human world that was only the beginning of their tasks. A new force is rising called the "Forgotten Princess", the third and final person to have an Unwritten Tale. In order to stop her they must do the undoable, they must give up. The Forgotten Princess can only be stopped in one way which they will find out by making allies and enemies along the path of their adventure through the magical and human worlds. They must trust the untrustable and help the unhelpable to do the undoable.
Underneath that paragraph was an illustration of girl with perfect blonde hair and a sad dull face. She wore a beautiful red dress with sparkles at the bottom along with a ruby jeweled crown. The girl was looking at a picture. Then I noticed who she was, Adelaide.
"Oh my gumdrops," Lena whispered.
"Oh. My. God," I screamed when I noticed what the picture she was holding was. It was of Chase and Adelaide. They were both smiling, but it Chase seemed dazed, while Adelaide seemed to be having the time of her life.
"What!" Chase worriedly said as he unsheathed his sword and put his arm around me. I pointed down at the book. "Really, Rory? It's the Forgotten Princess, forget? We have to defeat her." Then he noticed why I screamed. His eyes grew wide and then he seemed to be in a trance.
