Carter POV
I was sitting in my bed, reading, when I heard shuffling outside in the hall.
It was 2 o'clock in the morning. That was abnormal.
I hopped out of bed, only in my gray boxers, and opened my door.
Zia fell into my arms, crying.
I closed the door behind her, and sat her down on the floor.
Sitting down next to her, I asked, "What's wrong?"
"The nightmares. They kill me. It's my village burning, then it's my mother as she screamed for me when I got lost in the fire, then it was me, drowning in the Nile. Then...the last one...you-you died!
Her entire body shook.
I took her cheeks gently, and made her look in my face.
"Z, I swear to you that I will be there for you forever. If I leave you I die. You are my life line. There is no possible way that I could ever live without you. I'm still right here, and I always will be."
She collapsed into my chest, exhaustion hitting her like a ton of bricks.
"Can I stay here?" She asked into my chest.
"Mhm."
I picked her up and set her down on my bed. Then I layed down, wrapping my arms around her shivering body.
After about a half an hour, we fell asleep.
Sadie POV
At about 9:00 I went to wake up my brother. He doesn't usually sleep this late.
I walked in to a horrific sight.
Zia was laying in the same bed as my brother. In her underwear.
She was wearing regular underwear, though. It was dark purple, with gray edges. She also had on a dark blue sweatshirt. My brother was totally in his underwear, which worried me, until I saw that Zia's face was tearstained.
Nightmares.
I smiled sadly. Poor girl.
I walked out, but not before snapping a picture. Pure blackmail.
