200 years later…
Shang Tsung is very old and has a family, He does not want to fight in the tournament, but he still wants a lasting impression…
"Father", says Lee, "I am ready" "And so you are. Well then, fight!" Lee Tsung and Kung Lao were ready for Mortal Kombat. Both had been training for so long, and whoever won this fight today would go on to fight in the tournament. Lee, or Lee Slym as everybody called him, was Shang Tsungs son. He hopes to win the tournament and inherit the tournament. Kung Lao just wants to prove himself. "Round One… Fight," Shang Tsung proudly announces. Lee strikes first: a punishing spinning left hook. Kung throws a flurry of punches at Lee, all of which connect. Now even though they were fighting for an ultimate prize, they were still best friends. Nothing would ever change that. Lee makes the ultimate mistake later in the fight when he lunges forward with an awkward kick, falling to the ground. Kung takes advantage and connects with an extreme dragon punch to the temple. "Kung Lao wins." Shang was saddened that Lee had lost, but still congratulated Kung. After the fight, Lee takes off into the woods to think. All that training, all that damn progress for nothing!? Suddenly, Lee was surrounded by a race of unknown creatures. Their leader spoke up: "How dare you walk into our den," she said, "How dare you challenge us?" Her tone was harsh, her skin was pale, her teeth were sharp. She must be a vampire! Then, they attacked…
Shang couldn't believe what had happened. When he heard the news he almost had a heart attack. Lee was found dead along the riverbank. It looked as though he had drowned, but there were two bite marks on his neck. Shang blamed Kung Lao. If he hadn't won the fight, Lee wouldn't have run off. Shang returned to the tournament to challenge Kung Lao. Along him are: Afari Martyr, Kimchi Yellow, an unknown fighter, and his last-minute second-in-command, Naginata. Kung Lao had only the help of Kato Jay. Riou Takamura returns to take revenge on Shang Tsung for killing Yin Long in the last tournament. The unknown fighter turns out to be Lee, who kills Kato. Kung then kills Lee and Naginata and defeats Shang and wins the tournament. They would then start hosting tournaments every 50 years- I Mortal Kombat.
There were then 9 more tournaments that Kung Lao had won. It looked as though no one could defeat him. Then one day, Shang Tsung revealed a new champion…
