Title: Last Breath

She wearily gazed down at her enemy, perspiration seeping out of her thick skin. Lilith struggled to keep consciousness, suppressing the urges to mindlessly lash out. For how long has she seen things through those eyes and had no say? The poor man was full of rage and yet she heard deep inside his concerns and assuring words to her; feelings much separate from those he passionately expressed towards her outward appearance in the past.

Aion pressed his blade up against the side of her throat as he drew his face closer. She couldn't help but manage to pull her lips up into a small smile. His face was so close to hers; the warmth of his body; how much he'd grown. Too long had she waited for this moment to come. She whispered sweet graces beside his long ear before taking her last breath.

Thank you... I love you both dearly.

The sinner gritted his teeth while firmly holding onto the top of her crown and with the clean flick of his wrist, the crimson blood slowly emerged as he removed her from the throne. He had done it. It was over. She was relinquished from the tortures that the Superiors had put her through. A sense of relief coursed through the demon's body as his shoulders relaxed with a slight hunch and letting out a soft sigh.

She was finally free.

He stared at the peaceful face that cradled into his hand, almost too perfectly. If only she were truly sleeping. Aion stood there in a trance, allowing his mind to wander a bit. The past without the system was hard to imagine. His long fingers caressed the soft lifeless cheek as he thought further. Would she have been the type to scold him to come home before dark; or perhaps read him a bedtime story as every other child had the joy of experiencing? He weakly smiled as he thought of the delicious pastries that would have been waiting for him in the kitchen. Conjuring these possibilities only brought further sorrow and irritation. Aion snapped himself out of it with a slight shake of his head before getting wrapped up in the emotions that clawed to overtake him. This was why having an 'important' something was such a hassle. Nothing good ever came out of it in the end.

He placed a soft kiss onto her cheek with a word of good bye before placing his façade mask back on; starting with his infamous grin as he triumphantly greeted his other flesh and blood.
