A/N: Aaaand another Doctor Who drabble. You can thank my Science teacher, who didn't show up today. Thanks to his absence I had time to write this. Scene from "42" an ep from Season 3. I hope you like it.

Travelling with the Doctor was risky, Martha knew. She'd almost died, more than once, had been captured, had assisted to the failed attempt of Professor Richard Lazarus to change what it means to be human. She had met Shakespeare, she had done and seen extraordinary things, lived brilliant, life-changing experiences. Only to end up trapped in an escape pot, about to fall into the sun. She was sinking.

She looked at Riley. He did not have faith in the Doctor, like she did. And even she was starting to lose faith. Not in him, but in the face that he'd save them. The Doctor might be able to save the rest of the people inside the ship, but she only needed to take one look out the window to know they were too far gone.

Martha looked outside once more, the sun dangerous and menacingly close. She looked back at Riley, before picking up her phone and calling her mum. If she was going to die, she wanted to talk to her mum one last time.

She dialed the number with tears in her eyes.
