"Only me?" Billy repeated in a certain surprise. His landlady simply kept with her smile, he began to fear. Heat began to rise, he was having struggles to breathe. He then realized something was wrong with his tea. He saw once again the woman's smile...she was sick and crazy.
"You should go to bed," The landlady said, Billy felt too weak to even walk. "You must be exhausted. Let me help you."
She wasn't strong, but she managed to get him up with no issues. Billy began to suspect something was wrong with the woman as she began to hum a strange melody of someone lost or probably gone. She carefully laid him on his bed, he was feeling nauseous. His landlady was slowly petting his soft hair as she continued with the strange melody.
"I...need air," He breathed. She giggled as she shook her head in response, it was clear that she would not allow him to get out of his bed. "Please, I need air."
"No, no, no." She said in a musing smile, she was insane. She closed the curtains and lock the window. "You just need some rest."
"The tea...tasted like bitter almonds." he slowly said he was frowning and knew that it was far more than a bad flavor. Her smile began to disappear as she began to realize that he was actually accusing her. Accusing her of poisoning him. She was shocked but nevertheless continue with her creepy petting.
"Maybe it needed more sugar." She said in her warming tone, but for Billy, it was more of a crazy one. "I should add it more sugar, but too much sweet would be bad for you." His frown went deeper as she kept refusing to admit that she poisoned him. "You must have a very exhausting day. You better rest, you don't want to be late for your first day of-"
"You poison me, didn't you?" Billy interrupted. She glanced at him, she tried to kept her innocent look, but her obvious insanity proved otherwise.
"Of course not, Dear."
"You did poison me." He wanted to hear her confession, even though he was slowly getting out of the air. He was struggling to breathe. The landlady sighed, she gave up to him. "You...you..poison them too, did you?"
She was quiet and but then she smiled once again. She was crazy, and she didn't want him to leave...leave her actually. She said nothing, she began to check his pulse. Her creepy smiled remained on her face as she began to sing once again the melancholic song.
"I hope you feel like home, Mr. We...Weaver" She said, he was fainting but was giving up to his murderer. "I rarely have the pleasure of having extremely handsome gentlemen like you or Mr. Temple or Mr. Mulholland. But I'm sure you will get along with them." She chuckled, she chuckled like the insane old lady that she really was. She kissed his forehead head before walking away.
Billy simply closed his eyes as he accepted his horrid fate as his murderer, the landlady, sweetly smiled to him.
"Goodnight, Mr. Weaver."
Author's note:
I got inspired by different alternate endings where Billy actually lives but the landlady scapes or Billy is killed and the landlady shows to be more sinister than I actually though she would be. Then I watch its adaptation in many short films before watching the ending part of another adaptation but is actually an episode and I decided to watch the entire episode and it is an actually good adaptation. I watch it like hundreds of times and I still enjoy the ending they gave it to which actually inspired me to write this alternate continuation. Totally recommend the episode adaptation, is creepy like the story and the ending is disturbing. I don't recommend reading the comments of the episode.
