Raiden. You have failed Earthrealm once again. Shao Kahn is defeated, but your mighty warriors have fallen and the realm is in ruin.
The destruction of earthrealm is beneficial to the forces seeking control of all the realms. You see, your fallen warriors' souls have formed part of the legion of a darker force.
Your actions now won't save you or your allies from the future that took place. I know of your future self, at the point of Armageddon, who sent you a message to change the events of the Mortal Kombat tournament. Let me give you some insight, your future self is poisoned with the same darkness that is lurking around at present. That darkness followed that same message through time to this past.
There is no good path anymore. It is your corruption that will destroy your present and your future, permanently.
Who are these dark forces? They are the puppeteers of this entire plot, behind Shao Kahn and even the tournament itself. You cannot stop what will come. Not you, nor the Elder Gods.
I am writing this message to you to inform you of your actions. My knowledge resorts with my travels with these darker forces.
Your darkest hour will come Raiden. I might be able to prolong not only your life, but the life of all the realms.
Come see me at the temple in the clouds and wait there. It might be days, weeks or months of waiting, but I will come.
In the meantime, you will meet various individuals. These individuals will become the new defenders of the Realm. The first individual is a warrior that has a hate towards one of Kahn's emissaries, Ermac. The second, surprisingly is a survivor of Kahn's attacks, yet his memory is wiped. The third comes from a land far from yours, yet you have met in the past. The fourth will become the new protector of the realm. The fifth, one of Kano's lieutenants.
You must converse with these individuals and convince them to protect Earthrealm. If you fail in convincing them, the realms' future will stay the same.
