Introducing
Sherlock Holmes was walking to catch a cab. Another case had been swiftly solved. The police are completely clueless about all things – how Anderson manages to tie his tie every morning is still a complete mystery. John was sure to be at the flat, a cup of tea in one hand his new girlfriend in the other. The case had been solved and handed into Scotland Yard approximately seven and a half minuets ago and Sherlock was already starting to come down from his intellectual rush, boredom would soon to follow.
As he tried and failed to hail a cab, Sherlock spotted a girl. She was about seventeen and looked completely out of place. This wasn't dull.
"Are you alright?" he said as he strode toward her. He didn't particularly care but it was something John would approve of. She also intrigued him.
The girl looked up at him confused but not the least bit scared. "What planet am I on?" She said this with a hitch in here voice. "I haven't been here before."
She didn't look high, no track marks, her pupils were the right size (no matter how unsettling her eyes were) "Earth."
Her eyes grew wider, if that were possible. "Earth-that-was, that can't be" she muttered to herself. She cleared her throat and asked "and what year is it?"
"Its 2012." Sherlock couldn't help but answer she was much too intriguing with her wide brown eyes and her summer dress in London's winter, she must be cold and yet she was showing no signs of it.
The girl was muttering to herself again " I only meant to go five years… not five hundred… my calculations were correct… my calculations are always correct. Must have been the system … no it must have been the hardware, never trust salvage yards when you have a faulty welder."
He interrupted her monologue "the name's Sherlock Holmes, I think you might want to come back to the flat, my friend is a doctor and he may be able to help you."
"River Tam. I will accompany you."
He didn't think she would, most people wouldn't trust a strange man who offered what he just had.
River smiled up at him "But Mr Holmes, I am not most people. I can see you are a great man and almost a good one."
This one is going to be very interesting, Sherlock smiles to himself.
