"Alright, Umbreon! Let's faint that Charizard!"

My Pokeball opened, and a red light faded away as the dark Umbreon appeared. "Umbreon! Umbre!" it yelled as if ready to attack. The Charizard was silent, but smirking. He knew he was going to defeat this small Umbreon. What was this trainer thinking?

I stood tall over my Umbreon, ready to think of a powerful attack to use on this strong, flaming Pokemon. I don't know why I wanted to use an Umbreon over this. Maybe perhaps she wasn't very well trained? I sighed, and took a deep breath. Then I said my first attack. "Umbreon, Tackle, now!" I knew it was a weak attack, but it was good for the start.

Umbreon charged towards the Charizard, using her best Tackle ever. At least she had slept for 6 hours before this. Maybe she wasn't wasting all her energy for this Tackle.

Charizard roared as flames burst out of his mouth. The flames hit Umbreon, and she went tumbling down to the ground. "Pathetic," he thought to himself. "As I said, the bigger ones are stronger than the smaller ones."

To Charizard's surprise, Umbreon got up quickly and growled. She could hear what Charizard was thinking, since Pokemon can speak to other Pokemon. "Charizard, you are no match to me! Just because you're bigger and think you're so tough, doesn't mean I'll lose!"

Here we go, I thought. Time for the next attack. "Alright, Umbreon! Give it your best shot! QUICK ATTACK!"

Umbreon seemed tougher than the last attack. It was pretty mad what Charizard was saying, and it used Quick Attack right away. I was surprised. My Umbreon was so fast it almost seemed to dissapear. "Good job, Umbreon! Keep it up!" I yelled to her. Umbreon seemed to move faster after what I said, and reached Charizard within a second after that.

Charizard roared as flames blew out of his mouth, trying to reach Umbreon again, but the dark Pokemon just dodged. And just like that, Charizard fell.

Umbreon stood there for a few seconds, and then smiled. She had won! But, she didn't know Charizard was planning a sneek attack..As quick as lightning, Charizard flew upward and used Flamethrower on the poor Pokemon's tail! Umbreon yelped and jumped up in the air, getting into my arms.

"Umbreon? You okay?" I asked sadly. I needed my Umbreon to win. It was the only way we'd win.

"Umbre, umbre," my Pokemon said weakly. But then she got up and jumped out of my arms, using her next attack without my saying it.

"FAINT ATTACK!" she said in her mind, building up all the strength she needed for this next attack, and jumping up onto Charizard without fail. Then she striked.

It was all a rush, then a blur as the terrified trainer watched its Charizard go down, closing its eyes before...fainting. Was this it? Was the battle over?

Time was ticking, there was only one minute left before this battle was over. Charizard roared after a couple seconds, and Umbreon sighed in defeat.

But then he was silent.

Charizard had learned his lesson.
