This is a MorionxCordie oneshot. Don't like, don't read.

I do not own GGO. I am not the amazing Kaori Yuki!

This is my first oneshot, and my first Guignol story. I love the series, and this will contain spoilers for Volume 5.

Morion POV

I was glad Lucille's companion had shot me; I was tired of bearing the guilt of my childish mistake made in jealousy. My love had become a monstrosity as a result. Her lovely red hair and sun-loving freckles, all gone. Blonde hair and skin had replaced them, maliciousness replacing bravery and attitude. Empty jade eyes covered sparkling, expressive emerald.

The ceiling was falling, and as if in a dream, Cordie was in my arms. My love lay broken in my lap. Lucille stood at the edge of my vision, and he was speaking, but I couldn't pay attention.

"I can have this empty shell, can't I, Lucille?"

I held her closer and she spoke, like a miracle, "No… Don't look at me… I'm hideous…"

A memory came to mind of the younger Cordie I held dear. I smiled as I said, "You're beautiful. You haven't changed a bit, since the day I met you. Whenever I look at you, I still see that young girl."

She looked to me as she was cracking, "Well, what are you waiting for? Let's hear that pathetic voice of yours."

I laughed haltingly and sang the same childish song Lucille had, keeping my eyes on her as the ceiling came down and we crumbled into death together.

"I'm sorry." I whispered at last, and as I went black, I heard a singular murmured, " I forgive you."
