Do You Remember
James Potter was perfectly happy. Sure, he didn't get into as much mischief as he did when he was younger, and he was being cooped up because of the Order, but it didn't upset him. He had a beautiful wife whom he loved and loved him back just as much. Together they brought life into the world in the form of a little boy with jet-black hair and green eyes. Lily's eyes.
Everyone always said that their baby was the perfect mixture of the two of them. And he agreed, he thought Harry was perfect the way he was. Lily insisted that James had the nicest hazel eyes she'd ever seen, and he personally loved her long, deep red hair. Maybe they could have another baby, a girl this time, with red hair and hazel eyes.
James had put down his wand, which had previously been making color puffs of smoke, and scooped up Harry walking towards Lily who just come into the room. He was just about to mention the idea of a daughter sharing the exact opposite traits of Harry, when the front door burst open.
James spun around to see a cloaked figure lurking in the doorway. Adrenaline pumping, mind racing, he barely spewed the words out:
"Lily, take Harry and go! It's him! Go! Run! I'll hold him off!"
In that split second he saw the only family he had looking at him; they exchanged unspoken words of love before Lily went sprinting up the stairs with Harry in her arms.
He turned back to the man who was making his way slowly towards him. James saw a twisted smile underneath the cloaked face. Eyes darting around the living room, James saw his wand lying carelessly on the couch, too far to reach. Instead he closed his eyes trying to block the stairs choosing his last thoughts carefully.
Lily, do you remember…
