So, I'm giving TheSecret Circle a go. I mean, it is by the same writer as Vampire Diaries (you can totally tell) so I guess it was inevitable I'd write something. I must admit it's getting good – and that last episode, I didn't see it coming a mile off!
It's just a one-shot. I doubt I'll write much about SC, because I have no particular strong feelings about the couples in it – though I am a little sad about Melissa and Nick. Anyway, I hope you like it!
DISCLAIMER: I do not own The Secret Circle or any of the characters

Cry
The second she closes the bedroom door she turns and sees the window – Nick's window, the one she has looked in a thousand times before.
Cassie remembers the first day, when she was getting dressed for school and saw him peering through the glass at her, shirtless. She was sure he was a jerk, sure that he would be sneaking peeks at her whenever he got the chance. She's not even sure that she's wrong about that – even though she was deep in her own drama (she can't think about Adam right now) she knew that Melissa was feeling mistreated by him, and was pretty sure that he was enjoying himself, just a little bit.
Yet she finds a tear rolling down her cheek. Here she is, crying over a boy she never really knew. For God's sake, she's only been here five minutes.
Five minutes is all it takes for your world to turn upside-down. She's only just realising that.
It hits her suddenly, and she moves to the window. The cool glass makes the hairs stand on her arms, but she still presses her hand against it. She closes her eyes, can almost see Nick on the other side, pressing his hand to his own window.
Nick wasn't bad. He wasn't all good, but who the hell is? Certainly not Faye, who always works in her own favour; certainly not her mother, who lied to her all her life; and how can she even say that she is good, when she spends way too much time thinking about a boy that is taken? He cared about Melissa, the way he murmured in her ear and begged her to return to him, pleaded with her to fight; how he came running to her and Faye's defence when they were being attacked by the previous demon. He had it hardest of all, losing both his parents, never knowing where he came from or how he was conceived or how happy they were when they realised they were going to have a baby.
She falls to the ground, unable to stop herself from sobbing. Her chest heaves up and down and she is gasping for breath and more than anything she wants to stop, but she can't. It isn't just about Nick, a friend and fighter that they lost: it's about her mother who is too, gone forever, about the father that she wishes she had to tuck her in bed and fight her battles and lecture her about boys; it's about Adam and how guilty she feels for thinking about him while at the same time just wanting to feel the warmth of his lips on hers and his hand in her hair; and it's about the magic, the witch that she is. For a brief second she thought of all the things she could do – pass any tests she needed to or unlock any door that blocked her path. Whenever she thinks about it, she feels bad because she's acting like Faye – but at the same time she wants it.
She's crying because being a witch, it just isn't fun anymore. It's people dying and lovers crying and hearts breaking. It's a whole new world that she has entered, but it is filled with darkness and unknown enemies, filled with battles that have been fought and the war that is beginning. 'Cause Cassie can feel it deep in her blood:
Something is coming. Something worse than they have already faced, and this time, Cassie isn't sure that they will defeat it.
