Training is Necessary

Cadyl awoke from her peaceful slumber the next morning as the sun peaked through her window, warming her face. The previous evening had left her in a happy daze, and she felt that this positive attitude was going to help her with her training. Rising from the bed she opened the window and the sensations of the city rushed in; Fresh baked bread, the morning rush of people talking, boats preparing to leave dock for the day, and a nice warm sea smelling breeze. Cadyl couldn't help but smile.
She quickly dressed and grabbed her stave before leaving the room and exiting into the grand hall. She came upon the high priestess and saluted.
"Good morning, Cadyl. How was your first night here?" Asked Laurena.
"Wonderful!" She beamed, "I look forward to my training here."
"We're glad that you are ambitious to start. Let's not waste time, High Priest Arthur will help you further your training. He is waiting in the court yard."
"Thank you!" Cadyl bowed and left for the open area of the Cathedral. Sitting on a bench sat an elderly man with almost white hair, and a long nose. His brown eyes shone in the morning some. He leaned forward against his magnificent stave, petting a dog. He looked up as Cadyl entered.
"Greetings! You must be Cadyl." He said.
"Yes, and you are high priest Arthur?" Cadyl bowed.
"Please, you may call me Arthur." He raised a hand and smiled kindly, "Now, how advanced are you with the field of Healing? So we can get a general idea of where to start with you."
"Well, I recently learned how to cure diseases."
"Ah, wonderful. So you already have a firm grasp on the dynamics of healing."
"Yes, sir. I'm just having trouble with healing masses of people at a time. It's difficult for me to focus my energy on all of them at the same time." She explained.
This went on for some time over the day. Cadyl would ask how her healings could be more powerful and the high priest would reply and explain with the necessary buff or focus required for the spell sequence. By the time dinner rolled around, she didn't realize they had spent the entire day talking.
"Sir, when will I practice my spells?"
"Well from what I've gathered, I think you can visit the healing wing tomorrow and help the warriors who are inured there." Arthur gave Cadyl a reassuring pat on the shoulder.
"Th-thank you sir! I will try my best!"
"You'll do wonderfully." HE stood and the two of them walked to the entrance way of the Cathedral where he left Cadyl to wait for Aerolas to show up. As the bells rang for six 'o clock, Aerolas walked up the steps of the church.
"Evenin'." He smiled.
"How was your day?" Cadyl asked.
" Not bad. Saved a couple of damsels in distress, you know the usual." He replied.
"Oh?" She tilted her head.
"No not really. I practiced some more in the battle grounds and helped out with the patrols in the forest." Aerolas laughed.
"Sounds fun!" Cadyl smiled.
"You could say that." He began to lead Cadyl to the bell tower stairs, "How was your day?"
"Not nearly as exciting as yours, but I learned a lot about proper healing techniques!" She beamed. Aerolas laughed and put his arm around her shoulder casually, "that's good."

Once at the top, the two sat next to each other over the ledge. They sat in silence, no words were needed, they were at home with each other.
If only that peace could have lasted. That evening, the City of Stormwind felt a tremble underneath it like any other it had felt before.
Aerolas and Cadyl were going to lean quickly that their destinies were indeed combined for an important reason. But perhaps too soon they were drove apart by the same reason they came together.
