Pnut's POV
I didn't know what Cordially, a.k.a. Cat, wanted me to do this time. Though, I don't recall the times before. So, in reality, she was leaving me blind. Not literally, but… Never mind. Whatever she wanted, I hope it was good. I checked the PM she had sent me once more.
Don't worry. I'll get you your present eventually.
Thanks for being descriptive. I walked across the Fanfiction HQ to the elevator. I hit the up button, waiting for the elevator, which was running slow as usual. When it opened, I was surprised to see Cat standing there.
"Come on," she urged.
"Okay, okay. I'm coming," I said. I walked in and watched her enter her key code in. She had a ridiculous grin on her face, so I'm assuming what she had planned was going to be much in the terms of a gag gift. But you never knew with her. The elevator door then suddenly stopped.
"No!" Cat complained. She opened her tablet and started to type quickly. I stood silently tapping my foot. It wasn't awkward, but started to be as soon as the elevator started moving practically thirty minutes later.
We hadn't talked once, though I had the feeling it was for a reason. I didn't know what it was, but hey. All I knew was that if what she was doing wasn't good, she was going to be in huge trouble. It took five minutes for the elevator to get to her floor.
Of course, to her it didn't matter. She looked hyper. Or anxious. One of them at least. When the elevator finally opened though, I smiled.
"Happy Birthday!" a big group of people yelled. I smiled.
"Told ya I'd get you a present," Cat smirked. I rolled my eyes and hugged her.
"Thank you," I replied. The party was absolutely small, but that didn't matter. I was with my friends, and it was my birthday. The perfect way to spend it. Cliché? Maybe. But, it is absolutely true!
Happy Birthday! You're such a great friend and I wish I had you by my side 24/7.
