AN: So, this is my first story and it's just something I did for fun. Reviews and critiques are welcome and encouraged.
I do not own any characters, all rights go to their respective owners. I do have creative license over the story line (if it could be called that).
This is just a scenario I thought of one day and decided to write it. What if someone (probably a companion) saw into the Doctor's mind/soul. Not a certain regeneration, just the character as a whole.
Please enjoy and review.
I felt pain. And suffering like never before. Terror of what could happen, what I couldn't stop. I saw genocide and torture to entire races and groups. Rage was present, rage at the monstrosities that had caused this. There were cries of help voices ringing with despair, an overwhelming sense of despair surrounding me. Engulfing me in its ever present mist that stayed with everything no matter how bright the day. It was a feeling I couldn't shake. Filling all my senses to the point where that was all I knew.
I saw a planet, with skies burnt orange and a citadel enclosed in a mighty glass dome, shining under the twin suns. Beyond that the mountains go on forever, slopes with deep red grass, capped with snow. It was truly beautiful, more than anything I've ever seen. Then there was an explosion, and a sound that was like you ripped time all together. And it was gone. The whole planet, silver leaved trees, mountains that went on forever, the glass dome, all of it wiped from existence. And despair once again filled my mind.
I saw a lonely blue box, traveling away from the empty space the beautiful planet once occupied. It radiated sadness and that same despair. The box seemed to weep, lonely and terrified of what it would do now. Without a family. Without friends. Without a home.
The image changed to one of happiness, and love, and life, oh beautiful life of all sorts. So many species thriving and advancing in every aspect of the word. Life forms creating family and friends and fantastic lives. Living in peace and prosperity. I saw a man, no, not a man, something better. A Lord. A Lord helping those who needed it, helping them lead fantastic lives. A Lord who traveled the universe through time and space, helping anyone who needed it and rejecting his own wants. A Lord who sacrificed everything to save everyone else. One who obsessed with making others lives better. A Lord whom I respect the most on any planet. A Lord who I saw, opening my eyes back to my world, gasping in the air my lungs were dependent on.
