The past two years have been the weirdest part of my life. It started in eighth grade. It was the first day of school and I just got off the bus. I kept myself to myself, particularly because it gives me an aura of superiority and aloofness. "Hi, Dylan!" a person next to me said. "Hi, Ben!" I reply. "Hey, nerd, help me with my summer reading!" a random person next to me says. "I am not a nerd, I prefer the term 'intellectual badass'" I say back, while giving him my super-deluxe death stare. "Um.." he stammered as a literal spark came from me to him. He could not move. "Hey… hey… where are you going!" he exclaimed. "What did you do to me!"

A strange glowing green light poured out of my eyes, which turned a deep emerald green. Instead of acting surprised, Ben just said "Wait… What happened?"

"Nothing, just a weird optical illusion"

"Um, okay."

First up, science.

"Okay, class, and that is how the heart uses an electrical field to power your heart." said my science teacher Ms. Selig as she droned on and on.

"Any questions?" she said in a monotonic voice, as if she had rehearsed that line for thirty years.

I jerk out of my stupor and raise my hand.

"Yes, Dylan?"

"Well, wouldn't it be possible to measure the electronic impulses from the body? Couldn't we power a device if we concentrated the energy into one point?" I say excitedly.

"I"m sorry, Dylan. That theory is impossible because the body can get out of whack if you do that." she said, disappointed in me.

"Ah well."

Then I feel a jerking feeling as a literal spark travels down from my heart to my right hand as it becomes awash in lightning. "AAH!" I scream.

"GET IT OFF GET IT OFF!"

Then, suddenly, there is a very loud commotion in the hallway. Everyone abruptly forgets about my hand, as it gets extinguished. I cautiously open the door to see a blue, eight-legged monstrosity in the hallway, scuttling towards the exit. "I got this!" I managed to squeak out, excitedly. I run toward the door, and turn around to see a group of teenagers walk in the classroom. My eyes feel fried. The hallway was awash with blue light. I chase after the monster, each foot hitting the ground at a speed that I never knew that I possessed before. I leap in the air, hitting my head on his hard exoskeleton. OW!

My hands act of their own volition, grabbing the shell and digging my fingers into the edges. A loud tearing noise filled the air. The shell lied on the ground, steaming, while I was splattered with a orange goo. Something was lying on my head and as I reached my hand to get it off, I discovered a weird, pulsating blue organ that was attempting to swallow my skull. I screech in pain and tear it off and stomp on it. A weird, disgusting smell reached my nostrils as tongues of fire lapped around me. My left hand had a silver tattoo that made my hand seem to be bathed in silver fire.

Then, suddenly, the three teens from earlier burst the door open.

"I'm sorry, but we will have to detain you.

This fanfic will (hopefully) take place in the Inheritance Cycle. It will have lots of elements of D&D.
