Morgan tells her that the man who shot Garcia is in the BAU. The rest of her family is at risk. They need someone behind him, someone he won't see until it's too late- and she is the only one available.
So she slides her gun from her holster and leaves her office and goes to the glass doors.
She takes aim, noting absently through the focus that Rossi is talking.
The man begins to turn and all she can think is Garcia Garcia Garcia Garcia's blood on the steps Garcia pale and colorless in a hospital bed Garcia's smile weak and strained Garcia holding her stomach Garcia wincing with every movement and the rest of my family is in danger now too.
She fires without hesitation, the glass shatters, the man falls, and her family is safe again.
